We are visiting Legoland soon, I was looking at their website for facilities for disabled children. They have operated a scheme similar to the other theme parks but I was impressed to read that they will now allow disabled concessions to those who don't understand the concept of queueing. This is not before time although it is welcome. We visited Legoland a few years back and their system was to stamp the hand and they would only stamp three other party members hands. (At Thorpe Park they gave all of us wristbands) This was a problem as we were in a party of five so it didn't really end up the family day out that we had hoped. Also, as my nephew has a severe nut allergy we are constantly washing our hands and eventually the stamps wore off. We had to walk all the way back to guest services to get re stamped so in the end we didn't bother. I wrote to them afterwards to suggest a date stamped ticket instead of stamping the hand (also a bit degrading) but they were not interested.

Hope you have a great day, I know for us the wristbands are the difference between a managable day and a stressful one.

Did you have to argue with them to get 5 people included as on the current website it still says up to 3 other members of the party?

Maybe you could request that they stamp the wrist instead. That way, it wouldn't get washed off.

Just to report back in case anyone is interested- we were in a party of 9 and they agreed to stamp all our hands (a black stamp for carer and red for the disabled child) but only let disabled child plus 3 on at each ride. We could therefore not all go on the ride at the same time. One ride agreed to let child plus 4. We also had to suffer a few comments from the ignorants who were queuing (hubby heard it, had it been me I would have given them something think about!!) Anyway we had a great day really and importantly all the kids loved it.

I've booked a 2 day ticket for next weekend plus 3 nights in a local hotel that has a childrens play area and swimming pool. I've emailed them about their scheme. It was interesting to see that disabled people don't automatically get priority as most of the rides are wheelchair accessible, but James qualifies for every difficulty mentioned on the site, so now I'm looking forward to it.
