My 3 years are up on James' blue badge. I know I should have reapplied sooner, but to be honest (and I'm sure you will empathise with this) I fill out so many forms, I don't know whether I'm coming or going.

Anyway, last time I applied for a badge, I was told that it was borderline that we got the badge as James is on low rate for mobility, but they decided to award it as they were feeling "in the Christmas spirit".

Rather than hoep to goodness they are having another Christmas Party on the day they decide, can anyone give me any pointers on things I may have forgotten to put into the application form?

James can walk, but it is traffic noise and distractions that make him unpredictable. The badge has been an absolute Godsend when he's in the car with me, and even more so for other people who take him out that are not so aware that you have to grab his hand BEFORE he gets out of the car.

So, has anyone else applied for a badge for a child with ASD? And if so, what sorts of things did you put in your application? My head is swimming and I just can't thinnk straight with everything that is going on.

Thanks

Sorry Sam, I have never applied for the blue badge - i have found that autism/asd never seems to be serious enough to get much assistance!
Wishing you all well, take care, Karen. xx

Thanks Karen. Like I say, I got it last time, but they made the point that I probably won't get it next time.

OK, I've finished my accompanying letter, so fingers crossed.
