Whether you have used the family fund or not, they have issued a questionnaire to find out people's needs who have a child or young adult living at home with a disability. It focuses more on the financial impact, but well worth filling out. They've used survey monkey which makes it user friendly. Family Fund Questionnaire |

I have already completed the questionnaire and it sounds like they have some good ideas lined up. I am concerned however, that Adam appears not to be autistic enough and we will soon lose any assistance that we already get - ie Family Fund, DLA, Carer's. He does have ADHD and Asperger's, but i get the feeling that he isn't "disabled" enough to continue to warrant their help. We are already struggling big time, and when my daughter goes to uni later this year, and my ex stops paying maintenance for her, we are well and truly stuffed. Although my daughter will still be home for 5-6 months a year and i will still have to provide a home for her, we will lose tax credits for her too. It worries me stupid how we are going to cope. Wish i could just say no thanks to all Benefits and work full time with as much overtime as possible, but what do i do about being there for Adam and my son. He is 14 and is still entitled to having his mum around for him surely? |

It's those sorts of reasons that I think this will be really good. The family fund offering financial advice to people would be a real benefit I reckon. |
