Key exercises to improve the Yoke?

I had an idea the other day for an improvised yoke. Take an axle and loop 10 ft of chain over each end. Put a screw collar on the other side of the chain to hold it in place. Put the ends of the chain through some plates and carabiner it together. It should be god awful unstable and dirt cheap. As long as you squat enough to be able to handle the pickup, training on an unstable yoke should transfer to moving with a much heavier yoke when it's stabilized.
