NO MORE NO-DEADLIFTING DEADLIFT TRAINING FOR ME

This will probably sound stupid to many of you, but today I had, what I would call a moment of lucidity - I said to myself "It's time to start working on my deadlift instead of working on my squat and pretending I'm working on my deadlift."

I realize all the anti-WSers and "traditional" lifters are all saying "Well, duh...", but I guess it took a two-year plateau and just enough frustration to finally come to grips with that.

In my defense, I don't believe that I am built to deadlift and so it is easy to overtrain the lift - I'm just realizing that I probably need to be more carefully calculated in my DL training rather than hoping that a bigger squat will transfer to a bigger DL.

I was similar.

If you ever feel burnt out, just lighten the load on your deadlifts and do some reps.

I get into ruts with WSB routines. I don't want to mimick the deadlift, I want to deadlift damnit.

Rah!

I DO think that you need to pull every week.

I DON'T think that necessarily means deadlifting. Clean pulls, snatch pulls, ROM DLs, rack pulls. All of these will help. But you do need to pull and you need to pull heavy regularly.

Good luck, man!

Plus, if you can find a bigger jpeg of that Domokun Deadlift, I would greatly appreciate it :)

Thanks Sean and Jesse.

Just want to add that I don't think it's a WS problem. If you keep tabs on the guys at elitefts, most of them are DLing regularly - not necessarily heavy, but they get their DL work in.

I've just been a lazy ass too long and I intend to fix that. Hopefully, I'll be hitting some PRs at a push-pull in late August.
