Sean, excellent advice. And Matt, all kidding aside, everything WILL get better. Like Sean said, you just have to prioritize everything. Not sure what you're making now, but you can at least start applying for jobs that pay more, regardless of whether or not you like them. I worked as 2nd shift foreman for 1.5 years and I HATED IT. It paid the bills (and I actually had some money left over), and left enough free time to APPLY FOR OTHER JOBS. My wife's uncle had a goal of doubling his income every 4 years either through promotion or chaning jobs.. and has come pretty darn close to doing it. Of course, he also got a degree along the way. |

I agree

It was the same for me, only at 31 I found myself with a child on the way so I had to get my ass in gear. Try monster and hotjobs, see if something jumps out at you. You're a good writer- ever considered journalism, or dare i say it- teaching? |

From what I've read from Matt, he'd be an awesome teacher. This is why I've stuck with the SDF: great people who want to help you out, not just in training, but in life. |

Online douche. GOLD! I need more Gold

Actually, Matt would be a fucking awesome writer, too. There's a reason his log gets more hits than any 2 or 3 other ones. You almost feel like you're there. Might be something to explore, Matt. - Sean |

Fuckin' SLAYER!!

You know, writing doesn't exactly pay too well either. Like any art form, it can be channelled into something that pays, but I have to be inspired to write. I suppose enough money would be inspirational, though... All good points to consider, and again, thanks for cutting through the bullshit. Even if what you guys tell me is not what I want to hear, it's what I need to hear. |

Write the story of a idealistic young delivery guy that lifts weights that is pushed to far and seeks revenge. |

And in his thirst for revenge, no car salesman is safe. Until he finds that one little gal sellling used cars down South. Falls for her, has kids, and then he kills her parents, and they live like kings on the inheritance. Or maybe not.

I'm getting all misty eyed from the love and caring.
 I think that the Seanmeister has some good advice as usual. It is hard to find something that you like to do and that will pay you well. I went to University, got my degree and wound up working for the last twenty years with some of the most obnoxous teenagers in our fair city. However, I do like my job. It has it's moments and it's rewards. If it didn't I wouldn't have stuck with it for so long. I don't make as much money as I possibly could but I have a four on and a four off work schedule which gives me plenty of ME time. and I've got five weeks of Holidays to play around with. I work with some of the best people you could imagine and the Program that I've help establish is one of the most respected in the Province. I guess what I'm saying is, if you find something you are good at. Stick with it and become better at it. It will pay and you will be satisfied rather than angry and searching for the "Pot of Gold". Everyone has a talent and there are more ways to earn a living these days than I believe have been available ever before. As Joseph Campbell said, "Follow your Biss". It will lead you where you never thought you could go but where you need to be. Brock
