Big list of competitors and good event selection. The little one-liner on Ironmind ain't so terrible, either. Way to promote the sport, Al!

Thanks Guys. :beer

For all Athletes entered for the Qualifier(Sunday 16th April), I would advise those of you that have not yet trained with the Official equipment to take a final chance to familiarise yourself with it tomorrow ( Sunday 9th April) at Unit 13, Haig Business Park, Markinch, Fife KY7 6AQ, as next Sunday you will not have the same opportunity.

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=...m%2BFM%2B&cat=h

Also, the scales to be used for weighing the Strongmen at the Qualifier will be at Markinch tomorrow. This will give any of the Strongmen the opportunity to check their weight and to make any final dietary adjustments that may be necessary before next Sunday.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was a great day and I hope that everybody( Athetes, Officials and Spectators alike) had an enjoyable day.

I would like to give a MEGA THANKYOU to the following:

To Sponsors:

Whey Consortium
Powerhouse Fitness (Aberdeen)
The Buff Butler Co. Ltd.

For sponsoring the Qualifiers with excellent Prizes for the Athletes.

To Jackie Young, WSM 2002 Runner-up, for doing an excellent job in refereeing the Qualifiers(This was the first time that Jackie had refereed a Strongman/Strongwoman competition) and for coming along early to supervise the weigh-in and Athletes briefing of rules & Events prior to start of Qualifiers.

To Scott Bell-Craig( Managing Director of The Buff Butler Company Limited,Aberdeen) for carrying out the duties of MC for the Qualifiers excellently, getting the day off to a great start with the introduction of each of the Athletes to the Spectators and keeping everybody informed of what was happening during the course of the afternoon.

To Janette Murray(Stuart's Wife) and Lynne Napiar(Stuart's Sister), score keepers for the Qualifiers,
for their excellent efficiency in recording the scoring throughout the day, and to Iain Murray(No relation to Stuart) for his excellent efficiency in transferring the data, compiled by Janette and Lynne, from paper to computer and projecting it on to the wall for all to see.

To Raymond Christie(He's not Heavy, He's my brother!- depending what way the light hits him he looks under 105kgs....NOT! :P ), Jamie Barr, Stuart Murray, Ewan Cameron and Colin Bayne who all done a great job in ensuring that the equipment for each Event was in place and reset for each competitor and that the timing and measuring(when required)of each event was carried out and relayed to the Table of Score Keepers(Janette, Lynne, Iain)

To Lisa Lamont, Physiotherapist, for the excellent work in treating injuries incurred by the Athletes during the course of the afternoon.

To Tom Jones( NOT the Welsh Warbler) of Strongman Equipment.co.uk(DEVON), Colin Lindsay( My cousin) and Jamie Barr for their assistance regarding equipment.

To Luciano's Snacks(FIFE) for ensuring that Athletes, Officials and spectators alike didn't go hungry or thirsty during the Qualifiers.

To Mike of Nightclub Sound And Light Limited(PERTH) , for the hire and setting up of his DJ Equipment and Tony the DJ, for organising the Music during the course of the afternoon

To Val of Scotloos(PERTH), for organising the hire of Portaloos for the day.

To Scott of Speedy Hire(Dunfermline), for organising the hire of crowd control barriers.

To All the Spectators who came along and supported the Athletes.

But, most of all, to all the Athletes, Lads and Lasses that busted a gut in training in preparation for yesterday, for not only "TALKING THE TALK" but "WALKING THE WALK" and putting in great efforts in every event and making for a great Qualifier.

For all the Lads that Qualified( or made reserves) remember there will be a weigh-in at the Championships in July, so don't be stuffing yourselves with Easter Eggs, because the same rules apply for the Main Championships as for the Qualifiers, any Strongman over the weight of 105kgs at the conclusion of the weigh-in will not get to compete.

Best of luck to all that Qualified, lads and lasses. I am thoroughly looking forward to the Championships in July. Those that didn't Qualify, be sure to buy your ticket for the 9th July and come along and root for you fellow Strongmen/Strongwomen.

Every Athlete received entry forms from me yesterday for either the U.K.'S STRONGEST MAN Under 105kgs or U.K.'S STRONGEST WOMAN being held in Cardiff, Wales on the 25th June. Get them filled in and sent off a.s.a.p. and let them see some Scottish Pride in the Valleys.

Also, very best of luck to Bernie and Becky at Britain's Strongest Woman in Hartlepoole next Sunday(23rd April)

Finally, to each and everyone of you who competed yesterday, I take my hat off to you most sincerely, because no matter how well everything else has been organised, without you guys there would be no Qualifier, in my eyes you are all winners. :respect

Again, Thankyou, everyone. ;)

Yours in strength
