Before very big success of Europe's Strongest Woman in polish TV (a few millions people watched) Aneta Florczyk decided to organize the World's Strong Woman Championship. We've already got a first acceptation of Aneta's main sponsor - Olimp Nutrition company. Other sponsors are also interested. In next week we will talk to the TV station TVN. If they accept, we will make the competition. We are planning the championship between june and july. Minimum 8 competitors, minimum 8 events. The competition will be very hard - at last it's World's Championship. :)
I'm happy, that we've already have the accpetation of most of the best strong women - with Heini, Anna, Jill and Gemma (?). I would also like Julie Dunkley to compete. Do you know, by any chance, if she trains or if she has definitely finished with strong woman?
The events, which I like to use are classic, but to differ them from those from ESW. A lot depends from the sponsors. Maybe you have some suggestions?

I think Julie has retired, however she may be interested in competing again?

I will email you with the contact details I have for her and you can ask her directly.

Sounds like an excellent contest to look forward to!

There seem to be good news. An agreement has been reached between Aneta Florczyk and the Polish TVN producers for the contest. What remains is finding sponsors, choosing venue, competitors, events, etc. Hopefully Huragan would keep us updated.

The competition will take place for 100%.
Date: 10.09.2006 in small town 40 kilometers from Poznan.
Events:
- Farmer's walk for distance (80-85 kg), event will be executed by four competitors at the time
- Conan's circle
- Shield walk
- Log lift (probably 4-5 logs)
- Medley (duck walk, tyre flip, yoke). It could be devided - yoke as stand alone event.
- Hercules' hold (using a car)
- Throwing for height or for distance (if it will be for distance, pole or beer-barrel will be used as equimpent). This event was decided by the TV station.
- Deadlift (probably for reps, without straps - it would take too long)
The competitors, who will take part: Gemma Taylor, Josee Morneau, Anki Oberg, Anna Rosen, Heini Koivuniemi, Kati Luoto, Aneta Florczyk. Unfortunately Jill won't come. The events don't suit her.
Between women events, there will be mini-competition of four of the best polish strongmen.

I've not heard from Gemma at all, and i've just seen this on Marunde's forum:

1. Aneta Florzcyk (Poland)
2. Anna Rosén (Sweden)
3. Anki Öberg (Sweden

If that's correct then congrats to the top 3. I hope Gemma is ok, and is not injured? I must admit I'm very surprised to not see her in the top 3. Hope she's ok.

Yeah - hope its not too serious. As far as I know nobody has heard from her yet?

3 wins now for Aneta though - first woman to win it 3 times!. Good to see Anna Rosen and Anki Oberg in the top 3, they are both excellent athletes and good ambassadors for the sport.

I feel really gutted for Gemma as I know she'd trained really hard for this contest, but she is young, so hopefully the injury will pass and she'll be kicking arse again soon!

Damn, I hope it's nothing serious for Gem. And good on Anki and Anna. But damn...the Poles are ruling the world. Huge congrats to all the women! Can't wait to see some event breakdowns.

Some photos and details. Since they're in Polish here's a brief translation (will try to do better job when I have more time).

- Farmer's walk. Koivuniemi trails Taylor and Florczyk, Florczyk wins by a few meters over Taylor.

- Shield walk. Anna Rosen wins with 125 m., Koivuniemi is second with 100, Florczyk is third.

- DL hold. Taylor wins, Florczyk is second. Florczyk and Taylor are separated by 3 pts.

- Log medley, 5 logs varying from 60 to 100 kg. Florczyk is the only one to get all 5, Taylor and Dunkley get 4.

- DL for reps. Russian Murashova is expected to do well because of her PL background but finishes with 2 reps. Anna Rosen gets 6, Anki Oberg gets 5. Taylor starts strong but falls to the ground after her 3rd rep. After a brief rest she attempts again but is about to pass out again. She pleads with the doctor to continue but the doctor makes the correct decision and sends her to the hospital. Florczyk does one rep.

- Weight for height. Florczyk wins with 4.9 m., Dunkley is second with 4.8, Seiple is third with 4.6. Seiple is at first unable to get 3 m. in training but after a few pointers by Florczyk's coach, Bogdan Kwiatkowski, gets a great result.

- Conan's wheel. Florczyk wins with ease.

- Medley, yoke & farmer's walk. Florczyk has the best time, 32.28 sec.

After the contest the word from the hospital was that Gemma Taylor was feeling better.

Check the new way to do Conan's wheel. Aneta has a towel placed in her belt, so she has a nice shelf to rest her arms on ......
