Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Ortiz and Shamrock are coming off as complete tools as coaches? Shamrock's guys all looked disappointed to be chosen for his team- and his other coach is a bodybuilder/nutritionist? That speech he gave (you guys are, uh, you know, stock cars...) left the fighters totally underwhelmed. Ortiz having his fighter training the night before his fight? Hopefully the fact that the guy fucked up his ankle will be a learning experience for Tito. And how come none of those guys have the stones to say "Um, coach, I think that might be a bad idea..." The fights have been all right so far. I was glad to see that Jesse punk lose, and not surprised that he still thought he was better afterwards. |

I found that odd to, about the training the night before the fight. Not so sure Shamrocks coaching style is a good one. The coming weeks should be interesting. |

Now that I've actually got Spike, I caught this. Made no sense to have the guy doing drill work the night before the fight. Like the one clown said "You aren't going to learn anything the night before the fight." That kid should have been at home resting that entire day. Maybe going for a couple of walks and that's about it. You could see the ankle obviously affected him during the fight, but I was glad he pulled it out. He should have broken the fucker's arm for stabbing his ball. - Sean |

Maybe they are setting something up for down the road? I was very surprised at the lack of respect that the contestants had for the coaches. Not to mention the lack of general respect they are showing for the house and eachother. I know the show is edited to make the most interesting show but some guys just come off as ignorant pricks. Having that kid do drills the night before was a stupid call. I was glad he won since that Jesse was a loud mouth schnook. Although as Caber noted, it doesn't seem like he learned any lessons. So far I like the Brits and the Canadian guy. The first show where the guys from the UK drank that poor Hawaiian bastard under the table was funny. They sure did a crappy job of shaving his eyebrows though. |

Speaking of UFC, I saw the PPV on Saturday, Tim Sylvia somehow managed to KO Arlovski, Ortiz beat Griffin but it was close and could have gone the other way IMO. They need more good heavyweights. I am looking forward to Hughes/Gracie. |

Sylvia actually knocked him out? Damn, I'm sorry i missed that. How did Tito look, BTW? Rusty or in pretty good form? I think Matt's going to beat on Gracie. - Sean |

I was keeping a eye on sherdog during that ppv, because i'm to poor to get ppv, and all the arlovski nutswingers were out in full force that night. "The fight was stopped to soon" "it should have been stopped when Silvia went down" bitch, bitch, bitch...moan, moan, moan... |

Arlovski was not out, but he was face down on the mat being pounded on relentlessly and offering no defence except to cover his head. It was a totally clean win. As for Sylvia getting knocked down, he was still concious and kicking to keep Arlovski off, so I don't see how the fuck the fight should have been stopped. Tito looked pretty solid. Griffin landed a couple of good shots, and escaped the ground and pound twice, but Tito never once looked hurt, ruffled, tired or slow. Another round would have been good. I am too poor for PPV too, fortunatly my wife likes MMA so we went to the bar to watch it- it's more fun with a bunch of rowdy drunks, even if you don't know them. |

I've seen over 500 MMA fights and I've can't remember seeing the tides turn so fast on a guy as they did for Arlovski.... He dropped Tim with an overhand right, just like the first fight, but kinda just stood over him (who was still very awake) and did almost nothing. Tim scrambled to his feet, looked a little shakey but kept his composure. Andre, smelling blood, lunged in with a right straight, overextended waaay too much, so Tim just leaned his head back out of the way and caught him on the chin with a short right upercut. Game over. Tim hit him 5-6 times on the ground while Andre turtled.... good stoppage. I honestly thought Tim couldn't do it.... I'm now a believer. Tito/Forrest was a great fight also. Forrest took some sick elbows on the ground in the first round, but got out and really took it to Tito. Very Very tough MF!!! I was surprised at Titos boxing.. looked very good, but he missed 5-6 double leg takedowns which seemed very strange.. he said after the fight he had a MCL tear a month out, so that could be why. Gracie/Hughes (non-title) is next, I expect a total sleeping pill, I hope I'm wrong. ------------------ |

Well, I think the big thing for Gracie will be the rule changes- no more 3 hour matches with him lying on his back looking for an opening. I also had Sylvia figured for a big loss again, I guess it just goes to show you can't write off any of those guys. |

So far, it seems like the guys with the most mouth have consistently come out on the losing end. I still think Shamrock is a terrible coach, in this context at least. |

Actually, the one thing that's coming out of this is that Tito actually knows how to train guys. His boys are never gassed and meanwhile, Shamrock's guys are always sucking wind after 3 minutes. And yeah, Solomon had no idea what had happened after the few face punches. Coming into that second round, though, he still looked gassed and the other guy looked pretty much fresh. - Sean |

I know someone who has trained with these boys and said they were shite. Tito didn`t have a clue & was bailed out by Colin Ayamma (sp) who was unreal as a coach. Shamrocks guys are nearly all of a top level by the time he gets to ruin theyre style. They could of had so many better people to train them. My mate had an illustrious 2 fight mma career b4 being banned for life. If you`d of seen him rolling or on the pads you would of thought he`d never trained. First fight 4 second KO. Second fight ko`d the european (so called ) champ but wouldn`t stop. Decided he wasn`t enough he had a bit of a tumble with the ref. After this little misdemeanor the spanish lads team decided to storm the cage & try & kick lumps out of my mate.Doing the english thing we obliged em with a few well chosen words & punches/kicks. ENGLAND 2 SPANISH 0. Funnily enough the Spanish team had a lad in it billed as spains strongest man, he was the first to get dumped on his harris. Dissilusioned with it all he packed it in & has never bothered since. We roll for fun every now & again but nothing serious.Pity really he had that `red mist` personality. Cool as fook ,but a killing machine underneath. Long live `HOMER` COOK ! :bringit |
