Does anyone besides me and Dana White think that fight last night was a bit sloppy? I mean, I enjoyed the slugfest, and Mike Nicols took a lot shots to the face- I thought he was done a couple of times, but he never handed over his arm like "Ultimate Fighter" Danny, but it wasn't exactly a showcase of technique and style. |

Not the greatest fight technically. And that mike guy sure gave the deaf guy his back alot of times on the ground, thought mike was supposed to be a black belt BJJ and gold medalist, didn't look like it. |

That was a messy fight. If Matt hadn't been about 100x stronger than Mike, Mike would have killed him. The kid just couldn't keep his hands up and kept getting poked in the face for it. If he'd fought a real striker, he'd have been knocked the fuck out. - Sean |

Mike looked like he just wanted to give up. He just fell down and spent at least half a round turtling. All you could hear in the background (apart from Shamrock screaming "Knee! Knee! High kick just one time! Knee! Knee! Knee! Knee!") is people saying "He CAN'T submit him -- he's not nearly strong enough." It's too bad...I sort of wanted Mike (the underdog) to win, but he just looked sloppy and totally amateurish. |

Exactly... he could have won the fight too if he had listened to Shamrock and tried that high kick. The semis should be interesting. |

Both these guys had under five fights, so thats an excuse I guess. Their boxing was horrible.. Matt walking in Mark Hunt style with his jaw wide open..WTF??? this is the guy in practice who complained about every injury and then feared nothing come fight day!!! Very strange.
Nice observation Trev. Teach Matt some subs and dayum!! -------------- |

That was a good fucking fight. And again I notice one thing with Tito's guys: by the end of 2 rounds they don't look nearly as gassed as Shamrock's guys. "This is why we work hard!" I liked that one. - Sean |

And I knew that fucking shiteater would be happy to come back. I just liked Dana giving him the same speech as he gave the other two while he's going on the whole time "Yes. Yes. i want to fight. Yes. I know. Yes." and then finally "Tell me who you want me to fight and I'll fight him." - Sean |

Can't believe those other 2 guys, no, i don't want to fight, i'm not ready, i don't want to lose on tv again. Then Dana, "I know someone who'll fight" |

I thought it was cool that they brought Ross back even though I think Bisping will destroy him. I liked that too Sean- he was like "Yes, I'll fight." right away, even looked annoyed when they kept asking him. I was surprised Tait didn't want to fight, but not Kristian. He didn't look like he wanted to be there from day 1.
Too right- and even Kaleb said he didn't feel good about his cardio because of the way they'd be training, but something Shamrock said pissed me off- right after the fight outside the ring, he's going "You gotta be in shape, only you can do that." or something to that effect. WTF- he's the coach. He's supposed to be making sure they're in shape- or am I wrong? Another thing I noticed was Tito's guys listen to him during the fight and in the corner and have respect for him. Regardless, some more good fights coming before the 24th. |

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing. I was like "WTF ASSHOLE. You're their TRAINER! YOU set the pace." I hope Tito slaps his stupid ass around AGAIN. - Sean |

"Maybe in the future you should not tell the guy your fighting he just broke your rib and then point to the one that's broken." I wondered what the hell he was doing there myself. |

No fucking doubt. I couldn't help but think that a guy who really wanted it might have kept fighting. Of course, he'd have been fucked for the next fight but showing some heart might have got him a shot to come into the UFC anyway. - Sean |

If his rib was really broken though he'd have had a hard time doing anything, and being in iffy cardio shape would have made it that much worse. I was surprised when he threw it in though, all the same- but at least he didn't give up his arm like Danny- "I'm scared, submit me!" |
