torn ligaments

I tore ligaments in my left shoulder (why is it always the hand you write with?!) while away Snowboarding this winter.

Did it about five weeks ago now and my shoulder's feeling much better so I want to go back to the gym.

Any exercises I should stay away from and any I should do to help recover strength in my shoulder? I don't want to re-injure myself through carelessness but have really missed going to the gym.

Thanks guys!

I agree
Hi Flick- welcome back.

What exactly did you tear- rotator cuff? What part? Coming back from this type of injry might be something you'd want to consult with a physio on.

To tell the truth I don't know my diagnosis is all in French... I definitely need to see a doctor back here and get referred which I will do next week, I guess I want to workout a little in the meantime.

Think you're right about physio, my shoulders were never the strongest anyway.

I could sort out my cardiovascular fitness in the meantime. It's good to be back B)

Get yourself fit and healthy Flick, be good to see you again this summer, whether you are able to compete, or if you just want to come along to a comp and say hi. :)

Will definitely pop up somewhere to say hi. You know I love watching this stuff even if I am unlikely to compete again. Just trying to speak to Jane and see what she may be doing comp wise so I can cheekily hitch a lift!

Glad to see there's so many new women taking up the sport and doing so well B)
