Talk about a slow news day. Even CNN had a bit on that story. Apparently the claims goes on to say the he repped 1,000 for 10. One significant line in the article in the link:
Could that be He whose name must never be spoken? :grin |

Click on the picture at look at his SHOES. Notice he has on the Adistar weightlifting shoes.
 Maybe he is serious or something (Come on now, noone is going to buy that shoe for "good looks", lol...) But, he also said that God told him that hurricanes are going to be worst this year. And also he said something about Palestine (in a bad way). Crazy nut.. |

Because religion is the boat anchor chained around the neck of our species that's holding us back from making the next evolutionary leap. It's hard work being free, and many would rather have someone else tell them how to think and feel and behave. Building societies on a literal interpretation of scripture is not going to help us conqour the stars, that's for damn sure. |

Do you think I'm a stupid man, Lee? Lacking imagination, wit, sense? That I spend my days searching for someone to lead me around by the nose because I am too weak to find my own way? I see it differently. Frankly I would find it a lot easier to NOT believe. I've even tried. Look, none of these TV preachers or GWB or the neo cons or who fucking ever represent the majority of Christians- just like the 9-11 bombers don't represent the majority of Muslims. When you guys- and you know who I mean- bash the "religious right"or Christians or suggest that my beliefs are holding the worlds back from "conquering the stars" thats ME you are fucking talking about! And fuck if I haven't shared a beer or stories or misadventures with most of you motherfuckers at some point so let me ask you- why the fuck do you feel it's ok to talk about me like I'm your retarded second cousin? Do you se me or any of the other Christians on this board engaging in discussions on UFO's or 900 foot Jesus's? Do you even know who the other Christians on the board are? Probably not, cause they don't ever say SHIT about their beliefs, they just quietly go about their business and talk strength and booze and broads. So give me a fucking break will ya? I respect your beliefs, try and have some respect for mine. |

Right on, there's a big difference between being a real Christian and being a nutbag in it for the money. Religion in general is not representative of scripture, much less the nutbags talking the loudest. |

Fuck Caber, I obviously wasn't talking about you, since I was answering your question about why people follow such obvious frauds. I appreciate your sensitivity on the subject, since no one likes to get tarred with the same brush as the lunatic fringe. Unlike the pseudointellectuals in the Left Wing, I can understand the difference between people with faith and and people who hide behind religion. Your faith wasn't the one I was disrespecting. |

Fair enough. I feel, about people like Pat Robertson, the same way you do. How someone can claim to be Christian and yet advocate the assassination of a democratically elected leader of a soveriegn nation is absolutely beyond me. |

A fair number of muslims feel the same way about the loony Imams of the Wahabi sect. False prophets are always a terrible threat to every faith. |
