So, who out there is counting the days left? Any predictions, hopes? Mine are for Rooney to miraculously heal and play in full form, and for Italy to not win it, preferably not to make it out of group stage. |

Rooney will hopefully be fit for the knock-out stage, even if only as a substitute. I can see England making it to the last 8, maybe the semi-finals. Brazil have to be favourites to win though. |

Oddly enough my wife will be in Brazil on business during the World Cup. Apparently the entire country shuts down whenever Brazil plays so the local taverns etc. will be packed. Tough business trip, huh? |

I believe it. It's also happening in a number of other countries.
That's a team I wouldn't mind seeing do well. Always played very attractive style. Heven't looked into whether this is mathematically possible but my dream final would be Holland vs. England. |

For the British lads. I've only seen very little of Peter Crouch. Apart from looking like he may break in two at any moment, is he as good as the recent hype? |

When Peter Crouch first started playing for England alot of fans thought he was a bit of a joke, but he has scored alot of goals in the warm-up games and seems to have won the fans over. His height causes defences problems, and he has better footwork than you would expect. |

Fuck it's soccer, he don't need to be big. He needs to be able to run and score goals and give an acadamy award winning performance when accidentally brushing up against a long blade of grass. |

It's a sad state of affairs in English football when Peter Crouch can start for England. Yes he's scored goals against Jamaica and Hungary, good for him, but, he is nowhere near good enough to be playing at an international standard. I've watched him play many times, he was at Villa for a while and rarely got into the team. He scored 6 goals last season in a team finishing 3rd. 2 of those goals went to the dubious goals panel. He was the 47th highest goal scorer in the premiership. In fact he scored every 6 hours he played. Do we really believe that that is good enough to start for a team thats supposed to be 2nd/3rd favourites? For the World Cup, Brazil have to be favourites. I think England have their best chance for a long time, but still not enough of a chance. I dearly hope im proved wrong. With a bit of luck along the way, we certainly are good enough. 23 hours to go..... |
