I recently got injured (again) and the issue of core stability reared its ugly head (again). Trouble is, core stability exercises can be a bit well er boring, not to mention time consuming. But I'm feeling a bit better for doing them and thought i would share the joy. I've come across a series of 4 articles from the journal Sports Injury Bulletin and they have been a real help to me. Article 1 Gives a menu of static and dynamic floor exercises - with easier and more challenging options. Including helpful diagrams and clear descriptions. Article 2: introduces the swiss ball and runs through a range of static and dynamic exercises that can be done with this piece of kit. Article 3: introduces some more advanced exercises using the pulley, and the medicine ball. Article 4: is "super-advanced". Introduces resistence-based exercises, some using the medicine ball and some floor based stuff. The references are: The core training system menu 1 - Sports Injury Bulletin, November 2005, No 54 p. 4-6 The core training system menu 2 - Sports Injury Bulletin, December 2005, No 55 p. 4-6 The core training system menu 3 - Sports Injury Bulletin, February 2006, No 56 p. 4-8 The core training system menu 4 - Sports Injury Bulletin, March 2006, No 57, p 4-5. All by R. Brandon If anyone wants copies, but cant get hold of em easily - i'm happy to photocopy and send out. Just drop me an email at exile_girl47@hotmail.com :cart |
