Online douche. GOLD! I need more Gold
Well, survived another one. Placed well and threw fairly solidly, but I'm fairly disappointed because my practices have been going so much better than I threw yesterday. C'est la vie.

Open Stone
16.5#, good rock. Should have known something wasn't right when I couldn't really get this thing out there. Just wasn't going anywhere. 41'7". 3rd

HWFD
Normally my bread and butter event and again, very disappointing. 33'4". My usual average is ~35. Ugh. 3rd

LWFD
The 28 was more or less the same thing. Didn't feel "snappy" at all. First one went out 65'2" and the only one that went further was a foul. Craptacular. 2nd

Braemar Stone
25# pancake thing. Good rock. Got a little drive out of this one, but not tons. 31'9" on my second attempt stood as my best. 3rd

The Hammers
I was really expecting some magic here and I forgot too many of my own little cues to really put it together. 90'8"/113'2" when the smoke cleared. My bad ones early this week were 3 feet further than that. Yow. 3rd/3rd

56# Weight for height
My last 2 competitions have gone really crappy on this one due to timing. All I wanted was some decent pulls on this and I got them. 12 ok, 13 ok, 14 ok. Monkey off my back. Only had one reasonable attempt at 15'. Probably could have made 14'6" today. 2nd

Caber - 19'6" ~95#
Good stick, loose ground. Turned it for 2:00 on my second attempt and on my third I got a decent pop and it stood up...up...UP....and finally fell over for an 11:45. Delore made it look easy for 12:00. Everyone else figured mine wasn't going up at all. 2nd

Consistency paid off on this one. Ended up in second overall by a pretty wide margin. Like I said, I was pretty unpleased overall but besides Joel, noone else was really busting out either. Drank a metric fuckton in the beer gardens afterward. Now THAT was fun.

Western Canadian championships next weekend.

So...WFH > 14' again finally.

You finished 2nd to Joel. Not too shabby.

You beat Gord Walsh.

I'd say that relative to your fellow athletes in the Open class, you had a pretty damn successful day. Congrats!
