O shock horror Mark Felix has become Grenadan after finishing second only 1 week ago as British. I know this is old news but it still pisses me off bloody part timer. |

I'd place Jessen in front of Pope. But there's supposed to be another spot for a Canadian at this week-ends CSM |

Don't see how they can if the above draw is right Jesse? Unless the "TBD Norway" is a mistake and should be "TBD Canada"? |

Has to be said - Terry really has been put in the "Group of Death" this year. 4 very good strongmen, plus an unknown quantity with loads of home support in the Chinese guy... Definately the tightest group I think. |

I think Kevin Nee could have a good shot at the finals depending on his fingal finger performance. Good events for him, especially the car deadlift. |

The change from what was initially reported is that Boris Haraldsson (Iceland) is Group 4 and Mohammad Gharei (Iran) is in Group 1. These are official, but once again, remember that they are still subject to change. Also to be noted is that the Iranian guy is not the one who competed last year. A guy called Reza Gharei (don't know if he's the same guy, as people from that part of the world tend to have multiple names) competed in the IFSA Dubai contest and beat the likes of Oli Thompson and Mark Felix. So I'm hoping that it's someone of that calibre, he could throw in a few surprises, though I doubt it now he's been placed in such a tough group. |

I'm assuming Mark Felix has a UK passport, seeing as he has lived here for quite some time. I think that pretty much makes him allowed to represent Great Britain, now, I have no idea of his affiliation with Grenada but I dont see how any of this is Mark Felix's fault? He clearly has a right to represent Great Britain, and i'm sure that in reality he has every right to represent Grenada. It's just that in most sports you cant represent more than one country, oh, except Football, Cricket and Rugby, three of the biggest sports in the UK. Now, the real difference is that he seems to be able to represent both countries in the same season, and at will, do you really reckon Felix decides that? In a sport full of corruption (by this I mean, invited athletes to big comps, athletes not having to qualify, made up world records, people not getting paid, IFSA's apparent monopoly over athletes etc etc) do you really think its Mark Felix pulling the strings? How many of the guys that train for strongman would turn down a trip to WSM if offered? I sure as hell wouldnt, and Id be much less inclined to if I was Mark Felix and had the potential to do quite well. |

Mark doesn't have a British passport he has lived here for 10 years and his wife is british his kids are all british, I know there are difficulties when changing passport from Grenada to GB. Don't want to piss anyone off by saying this but, he lives in Britain and has done for a long time and it is purely that TV companies ask him to compete for Grenada as it gives the comp more of an international feel. No different to other sports with the likes of Lennox Lewis, Greg Rusedski and Mike Catt (Rugby player). Mark's a nice guy and I hope he does well, but obviously not beter than I do LOL. |

I would love to see Mark enter as a Brit that is my point he enters Britons strongestman but when the worlds come along he's Grenadian. And on another note if he is not a British citizen why can he enter Britons strongestman the clue is in the title. Nothing personal but it seems like total Bull Shit to me. But i do wish him well in the worlds. |

I asked Doug Edmunds this one to find out for myself (i am Danish, not having a British pasport). He said I could compete in Britain's strongest woman, because I am married to a Brit and live here in Britain. He also said I could compete as a Dane in other competitions if I qualified (for Euro and Worlds and so on...), because I have a Danish pasport. Hanne |

What are you talking about? I thought he placed there because of UK strongest man? I don't keep up with the bullshit on countries and shit. Just happy someone is there of "color." Why? Would it matter? Daryl |
