No i've not heard.
Russ did tell me that Dale pulled a massive 435kg on the Silver Dollar Deadlift but lost his balance as he was locking out and fell backwards. This would have won the event and probably moved Dale up in the final placings.
But it does prove that there is a new Daddy in static events and his name is ARMAGEDDON.

How did Glenn actually qualify for this contest? Seems to me that he just added his name to the competitors list and picked the events to suit him as he was the organiser.

Non the less well done Terry and good luck for the worlds, heres hoping for a top 3 finish for you/

It's a fair point you make Paul, I'd not actually realised that Glenn Ross hadn't qualified until you posted, but you are right!

Well done to Terry and Dale! For Terry to have performed as well as he did in 2 such different types of contest on successive weekends in a bloody good achievement. Sounds like Dale kicked some arse as well - top 5, 2 years running, very respectable!

Congratulations to Dale and Terry!

Does anyone have the weights of the events, along with individual results? I'd like to see the breakdown of points, please.

It's easy to forget that Terry did Britians strongest man the weekend before this one. Incredible performance to place so well in Both comps

The rubber matting caught me out twice at the uks - I attempted the wooden log world record 187kg - cleaned it easily and It felt light on my chest but due to matting I couldnt keep my balance and just danced with it for 5 before just dropping it(Glen failed a 160kg log to most peoples delight, lol)!

and the 18" deadlift - everyone had to open on 325kg then you had to pick 3 lifts from there - Glen pulled 355kg,I pulled 370kg - glenn pulled 390kg, I pulled 400kg - glenn pulled 430kg , I got the bar about 1" from lockout and I stumbled backwards and fell on my arse,no lift! and the best part was Terry was taking the piss came out and tried 440kg - he was laughing as he was doing it!

I think the final was the worst day overall for me!

first event - 147.5kg appollons axle for reps.

Glenn manhandled 5 reps for the win - I did 3 reps with 30seconds to go but I was to gassed for another rep(I should have gone for it) this put me joint second with dave meer! - Terry got 1 rep but his knees where playing him up on the push press, he just failed to lockout the second rep! - but Jimmy impressed me the most by cleaning the weight in one motion straight to his shoulders and he managed 2 reps!

second event hercules hold - 2 cars on ramps

what can I say I knew this was going to be a bad event - last place with 7 seconds! this was a really heavy hercules I think the winner got 27 seconds!

third event 18" deadlift

first glenn 430kg - second me 400kg(I would have liked to have seen Glens face if I hadnt have missed the 435kg) - third place terry with 380kg!

fourth event - back to back tug of war with a rope!

this was a event invented for Glenn - due to there being a rope glenn just leaned forward and held onto the rope, he didnt even budge - if there hadnt have been a rope thing would have been diffrent! - terry got second - I think I placed fourth - I was no good at this my forarms and biceps were fucked!

last event stones - I needed 4 stones for third place overall!
first stone in 1 motion - my right bicep felt like there was no power there - second stone, no power in right bicep had to do this in 2 motions because of my arm! - third stone my bicep was fucked I couldnt even break the floor !

at this point I did the walk of shame - my bicep is still fucked today(very sore)

I think if there wasnt a rope in the back to back event then the placing would have been very diffrent - Terry would have won it and I think I could have pulled off third if my bicep wasnt fucked for the stones!

Theres room for improvment And I will strive to improve again for next year - there was a better caliber of athletes this year in the final than there has been in the past!

Well done Dale. I am impressed that you already have worked out what was not so good for you and how to correct it! And that you will be back next year better and stronger!
