As alot of you guys know, Jon Bowles has has a few personal problems recently and has been unable to put this contest on. I've spoken to Jon, and he said to me that if I wanted to put it on, or if anyone else wanted to put it on, then to go for it. So I've spoken to Gemma at PSMA and between us we have got a pretty damn good contest sorted! December 10th 2006 Mountbatten Sports Centre, Twyford Avenue, Portsmouth PO2 9QA Events: 110kg log, for reps in 75 seconds Silver Dollar Deadlift for max, 3 attempts. Machine Squat, 220kg, reps in 75 seconds Conan's Wheel - 300kg Farmers Hold, 130kg per hand Stones, 5 stones 90kg-170kg! Athletes that have qualified though one of the qualifying contests this year can enter by emailing me: siggyllama@btopenworld.com. If you have any queries as to whether you may have qualified, then email me. After October 7th I will see how many of the qualifed guys have entered, and if there are any spots left I will open up the remaining spots to "Wild Card" enteries. I will post more info about this at that time. At the moment this contest is unsanctioned, however I am in the process of contacting IFSA to see if they will recognise it. As I get any news on that I will update the thread. For general information email Gemma at: GMSCBL@MSN.COM Athletes enquiries contact me at: Siggyllama@btopenworld.com |

I'm hoping to be there on the day to help set up the squat equipment etc but if there was a place I might fancy a go at this. |

Big Al Christie gave me the contact details of the Scottish qualifiers. I am going to try and phone them this weekend. Once I know how many of the Scots are doing it, I'll know pretty much how many more guys to invite, and I'll be inviting them next week. |

It's only gay if you smile during the reach-around.

Those are almost the same weights used at Canada's Strongest Man, along with Western Canada's, Atlantic and Quebec's strongest Man. Those are some sick weights...if most of your 105's can do those weights than you have a sick bunch. Dennis |

We seem to have quite a good selection of u105 competitors over here. Darren Saddler has moved up to heavyweight, so there is a vacancy for someone to raise their game and become Top Dog.... |

That sounds very fair Colin, Really pleased that Will gets one of the wild cards and a shot he honestly deserves it. I'll start getting my arse in gear as soon as I get back from Ireland. Doing a great job with this Colin, glad to see its finally going to happen.

Cool. I'll change it. Jay said it was Morrit, Phil Wright spelled it Morrity, so I was not sure. |

It has come to my attention that there is a rumour doing the rounds that due to my Mother's illness this event may be cancelled. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. This contest has been arranged, the venue is booked and paid for. The PSMA are running the contest on the day. My role has been to set the events and organise the athletes, which has been done. So rest assured this contest will 100% guarenteed happen. I am really looking forward to seeing who comes out on top and will be crowned "king" of the u105kg class.

Updated the competitor list. Scott Reid has decided against competing as he is unsure if he would be able to do the whole contest due to his back injury, and he said he would rather someone else had the spot who could give it 100%, rather thanhim do it and possibly have to drop out after a couple of events. Matt Cole has not been training for the contest, and I was informed today he won't be competing. |
