Hmmm.....Sebastiona Wenta, Stoyan Todorchev and Ervin Katona.....all United Strongman Series athletes. I have asked it before on this forum, but no one replyed. It seems that the USS is quit? Or not?

Hope to get things cleared now about this.

I thought the USS had finished for this year, and Igor Pedan was champion?

It seemed to me (and this is only me speculating, not based on any information), that IFSA pretty much swallowed them up as a way of having some grand prix events this year for their athletes without having to organise them directly?

I'm guessing this might not have gone down well with some of the people involved?

Interesting.

Is Virastyuk putting up his place at IFSA's WC's to do this Competition, because I can't see the chaps at IFSA being happy about this.

How many IFSA events are held a year? Maybe he just wants to compete more often.

With the USS dissolving and the byes in place for the finals of IFSA World's, maybe it was too much to tolerate.

With the the Super Series stuff is still in place for the WSM title, right? I'm thinking that's going to start sounding pretty attractive to a lot of the guys soon.

I thought in jan or feb ifsa said there guys could compete in wsc.

WSC is a separate entity from twi/super series.

Hold on, I'm lost- there's IFSA (World Championships- Savickas- right?), TWI WSMSS (WSM- Pfister) and WSC (I don't even know- Pedan, on points?) WSS was affiliated with IFSA, wasn't it?

I can't even keep this shit straight anymore.

Why change codes now though, could have understood if Vasyl and Katona changed before the WSM so that they could compete in that. But this makes no sense, even if you hate the system your in, never quit before the world champs. As an athlete you’ve only got a finite number of years to compete at the top level, so you should never throw one of those in due to the politics.

Though I admit there may be other mitigating circumstances effecting the decision that we’re not aware of but on the face of it, If Vasyl and Katona have thrown away their chance to compete at the world champs just to do a small international contest then they’re bloody stupid.

They’re both very good competitors with a chance of placing in the top 3 at the world champs and earning a lot of prize money. Don’t change codes now do it after the world champs! Imagine what a coo it’d be if either of Vasyl of Katona won the world champs (they both have the capacity to do so) then joined the wsmss. If you wanta stick one on Dougie Edmunds do it this way.

I would bet on Vasyl to win it. Good events for him.
