Abit surprised the young Bulgarian won. The last time i saw him compete he looked to be a bit inexperienced. |

Is that the final placings? Guys, seriously, IFSA is not the evil federation some people think it is. Last year they did what they could to ensure that the best athletes stayed with them as they seperated off of the only, at the time, recognizable name in Strongman- World's Strongest Man. And I'm glad they did, they have done a hell of a job since then in terms of creating a new market, promoting contests, and setting a whole new standard of overall professionalism in this sport. We (IFSA athletes) also get to compete in any contest from any federation we get invited to other than super-series. On the other hand, super-series has done well to keep their limitations imposed on their athletes quiet but I have heard from more than one of their athletes that they cannot compete in any USS or IFSA show. If they are the "good guys" then what's with the limitation on the USS? Isn't this supposed to be neutral ground? IFSA has also had the most shows of any fed. I have done 13 contests this year and more than half of them were IFSA shows; not to mention the 2 USS shows I did in affiliation with IFSA. IFSA did a lot of the leg work in making those shows happen too, there was no piggy-backing. I think there were only 4 super-series this year and of course they had the 1 WSM contest. That's a total of 5 for the whole season- this is less than I alone did for IFSA. And the number one thing for me is that IFSA has always put the athletes first in every show I have been too. They have a legitimate qualifying system for major events, this year based on National performances and last year on Pan-Am's and European Champs. WSM had less than half of the field qualify. Also, one certain athlete who qualified at the Mohegan Sun last year was almost booted this year for a new athlete that they thought would have looked better on TV. These two athletes will remain nameless, but this shows a disgusting lack of professionalism and I for one was outraged. I apologize for the rant. |

Thanks for that post, Travis. No need to apologize for a rant. It's really good to get everyone's perspective on that matter, especially if it's an IFSA athlete's. |

Congrats to Marsha on surviving his first international event!! I still owe him a ton for getting me into this sport to begin with. On another note, what is the bavarian stone lift? I have seen this written before but I have no clue what it is. |

In the ones I've seen, you dead the 700ish block from around shoelace height and then try to shrug/high pull it as high as you can. Highest pull wins. Off Topic: Travis, finally saw you on TV (Lithuania) Very impressive, you truly are a master of the stones. Good Luck in all your future contests, IFSA or otherwise. ------------ |

Seems like that event would be heavily weighted for the taller guys... Brad- that guy who did Lithuania is not me... At least I hope it's not. I do appreciate the response though. Both contests I have done over there were my absolute worst performances to date. But don't worry, the surgery was a success and my head has been successfully removed from my ass. Oh, and training has finally been good lately! |

Online douche. GOLD! I need more Gold
|
Shit, Travis, this is the stuff we NEED to hear. The IFSA athletes are hideously quiet about what's going on in general and the great media machine has IFSA doing everything short of goosestepping down the streets of Paris. Keep us informed of what's going on and if you're happy, let us know man! Noone seems to spread GOOD news anymore and we sure as fuck need to hear it. - Sean |

Ervin Katona coulda been first(or attleast second) if it wasnt for Raivis Vidzis! On the log Katona did 7reps but then Raivis started bitching to the judges how Katonas last rep wasnt good because he moved his foot forward(after the judge gave signal it ok lift) ... so he bitched and bitched and judges took the last rep from katona! :spanish |

It is wrong! B) Raivis could not influence the decision of judges. The judge has not included the first attempt as hands were indirect, last attempt the judge has included! Though last rep too was not pure!! |

The WSC seems to be getting a bit of a reputation for dodgy refereeing / scoring. I hope they can get themselves sorted. |

Refereeing in the Vein was good. But everyone can be mistaken!!! All WSMC stages had legal proceedings fairly!!!! |
