It's only gay if you smile during the reach-around.
Good luck to Russ! What's he pulled in the past and what's he hoping to pull?

Just got a text from Russ 'The genetic Freak 'Kirby to say the comp was today and he pulled a new PB and biggest lift of the day with a 315kg deadlift and reckoned he was good for another 5kg but did'nt go all out as his neck injury was sore.He also got best lifter of the day.
Well done big fella. :viking

Russ

Cheers lads,

Nothing to get too excited about though - its was just the SE Deadlift championship - held in my home town (Woking) and gives me a chance to represent my local weighlifting club. Andy Bolton can rest easy for another year (but watch out).

My aim was to win overall and set a new PB which I did with 315 k. I reckon I had at least another 5 in me, but I was feeling this persistent injury in my lower neck - so in the end I just went for a 5kg increase on my previous PB set in June. But it was still 10k on this time last year, and if I can keep upping my pb by 5k each time then I'm happy with that. Today I took a nice easy 295/310/315 at 124 b/w and best of all - no follow through action :woohoo - made sure I well and truly cleared things out.

320 will fall by the end of the year. I have half an eye on the SE Power lifting champs in about 4 weeks time as I would also like to put up a competition 210+ (raw) BP this year - not decided yet. I would also like to put up 145/150 overhead at somepoint before the years out.

The problem for me with powerlifting is all the gimp gear - I wish it was a level playing field and all done Raw - I dont fancy pissing about with all those suits!

Russ.
