Swollen vertabrae?; I'm a bit worried

I seem to have a swollen vertabral disc, about a third of the way up my thorasic vertabrae. It is only a little swollen, but I have never had anything like it before. It started about 12 days ago, when I did yoke with high bar position for the first time. It felt a bit off, and hurt specifically in that place for 5 days. Then fine for a few days (had a good strongman session but a bit weak on back stuff). Deadlifted last night and it's sore again.

Basically it doesn't hurt in any position if my back is static. If I move I get some pain, though nothing too serious. It is not the severity of the pain that worries me, only that I have not ever had it before.

Could someone please suggest what to do? I went to see my osteopath yesterday (before it started hurting again) and he said that it could have been a joint strain. Either way, I want to nip this is the bud.

My plan was squatting and benching tomorrow - is it wise to squat? Then on Sunday I plan to do light yoke and farmers and medley - I think that I will miss that.

Thanks in advance :)

1. Don't carry the yoke so high.

2. The same thing happened (possibly a bit more severe) to a training partner last year. After a few visits to the hospital, he was advised to take it easy for a few weeks. He recovered nicely.

Unfortunately there is not a lot of research into thoracic issues, all of the dosh goes towards cervical and lumbar research. Chances are you tore one of the myriad ligaments in and around the spine. The nervous system does not like the by-products of injury so if you aggravate it you will get pain.
