Sylvia ...followed that up with another win, a decision over Arlovski at UFC 61 (7/8/06), and a unanimous decision over the devastating challenger Jeff Monson at UFC 65.

They can sugar coat that fight as much as they like- it sucked balls.

Seeing a UFC live might not be as good as on PPV- might be worth though to see that and the Arnold strongman.

That was the worst fight on the card. The undercards were better. hell, fucking ultimate fight night was better. Watching fucking paint dry was better.

Sylvia's boring and ugly as a mud fence.

and holy fuck, do you think the guy could come in in shape for once?
I mean, holy fuck, if fighting in front of the whole world on fucking PPV and potentially getting your ass kicked (though he had little to fear from Munson, true) doesn't motivate you to train, nothing will.

He should try not being such a shuffling fat ass. Of course, I say this fully understanding that he would beat the shit out of me if we were to fight. he strikes me as one of those guys you'd be fighting outside a bar who just would never stop no matter how badly you stomped on them.

Mir breaking his arm illustrates what I mean there.

The fact that he has to cut weight to make the heavy class says it all really.

Ya but how many guys do we all know that would have to cut weight to make the heavy class and probably a large majority of them would look a heel of alot better than Sylvia. Not to mention they would be much more athletic and even able to run at 265 opposed to a faggy shuffle.

TORONTO (CP) - After two impressive wins in the UFC, Canadian middleweight Jason (The Athlete) MacDonald has been rewarded with a high-profile bout with former 185-pound champion Rich Franklin.

The two mixed martial arts fighters will face off March 3 in Columbus, Ohio, at UFC 68: The Uprising.

"When you continue to be successful in the UFC, each time you go back you get a tougher fight," MacDonald said in a statement. "I got a big win over (Chris) Leben who was considered to be in the top five and now they're giving me someone else who is another top guy.

The 31-year-old MacDonald, a native of New Glasgow, N.S., who now makes his home in Red Deer, Alta., choked out Leben at the recent UFC 66 in Las Vegas. In October, he submitted Ed Herman in his UFC debut.

MacDonald's record is 18-7. Franklin (20-2) has not fought since losing his title to Brazil's Anderson Silva in October.

Wow. I am totally looking forward to this fight.
Obviously they still see MacDonald as a 'stepping stone' for other guys.
Hopefully he can continue to surprise them.

If he beats Franklin or even if he gives him a good tussle, he's set. If Franklin loses this, though, he's a memory.

I wonder if they will have Serra fight Hughes?
That would be all right.
