Last night after I finished deads I loaded ten of my plates onto my duckwalk implement. That brought the total weight up to 472lbs, so I figured I'd see how it felt to pick it up. Now, given that there were so many plates stacked onto the implement, my fingers were directly between the stack and the handle. I picked it no problem, but the height and width of the plates prevented me from being able to walk it. Not thinking much, I dropped the implement onto an uneven part of the ground and the plates bounced back up, smashing my finger between the two surfaces. It hurt a fair amount at the time, but I figured it would go away. I have full range of motion but it's quite sore to touch and certain flexing motions hurt it. It's nothing to seriously worry about, but it might hamper my grip training for a week or so. All this to say, don't stack your duckwalk implements to the absolute top of the pin. I'll try to get some pics of this implement--it looks gnarly. |

My advice to you would be to seek out professional advice on said finger. I chose not to after a football injury and my middle finger on my right hand is permenently bent at 45% at the 2nd knuckle. What I'm trying to say is that is important to make sure it is splinted and straight, or you'll be a gimp like me. -wes |

Oh, if it is broken it's definitely along the lines of a greenstick fracture. Nothing that prevents actul use or motion. Just very slight swelling. If the swelling doesn't go down or the motion becomes inhibited I'll definitely go get it checked. No point clogging up the healthcare system over something like this. |

I have a wonky pinky on my left hand which is held together with bits of wire which were put in under local anaesthetic.....NICE! Sounds as though yours should be okay if you have full ROM. Keep it above your heart whenever possible and don't re-injure it. Sounds like bad bruising rather than a break. |

It's definitely bruising. Almost 100% no pain now, and it doesn't affect my grip at all.
