Up to 31 now, including the shooter. A quick death is much, much too good for that guy.

Fuck that is unacceptable.

And here's to hoping they gut shot the guy and let him writhe around for an hour while they "waited" for an ambulance. Fair is fair.

I can see them now... protesting againt Marilyn Manson, Eminem and Grand Theft Auto .... sigh...

A better question would be, why can you even buy semi-automatic or fully automatic weapons in the USA anyways? Certainly not for hunting...

But they'll defend their "Right" the bear arms until they die... or the students die... which one was it again?

I bet the NRA is going to have a few public speeches to rile support in favor of their almighty guns.

Don't oversimplify, Jesse. The "right to bear arms" thing doesn't make it easier for anyone to buy automatic weapons and psychos always find weapons, even here in Kanadastan.

The only people our gun laws prevent from owning are the law-abiding. Don't kid yourself.

And let's not turn this thread into a fucking gun debate.

30 young, educated people were cut down today by a sociopath. All I want is some kind of comfort that is NOT going to be coming for their families.

Christ in heaven. What motivates someone to gun down 31 people they likely didn't even know?

I seriously think 'normal' people are the minority now.

:lol

Death toll, currently standing at 32, 33 if you count the gunman.

What the fuck is up with people these days, killing this ex and her partner is potentially understandable (as murders go), but totally over the top.

Walking into lecutre halls shooting indescriminatly is just totally fucked up. To cap it all, the reports I've read say he was using a handgun.

Its a sad statement on things when 40+ people are in a room with a lone gunman and more or less all went quietly to their deaths. It is a real pity that we will never really understand what happened in that classroom. I like to think I'd have done more.

In a perfect world, I will never find out.

And if you really like the modifying so much, Jesse, I can very easily make it my mission here. It wouldn't be any trouble at all.

I really dont follow tennis very much, but I think the survivors ought to look to Andrew Murray as an example how to live life to the full after an incident such as this. He was a young boy at Dunblane Primary School in 1996 when Thomas Hamilton went nuts and shot 16 pupils and their teacher.

The fact that he has lived through that and gone on to make a success of himself should give them hope and inspiration.

well I heard some background on the guy. He was a 23 year old immigrant from south korea although he has been in the US since 1992. Apparently he was a loner and left a note where he was railling against "rich kids" and "charlatans". They also apparently found women stalkings in his dorm room and may have been stalking some women. When he went on the rampage apparently he did not say a word.

here is a cnn link on it

here is more about the killer.

Quote:

A fellow student said the 23-year-old English major had authored two plays so "twisted" that his classmates suspected he might become a school shooter.

Ian McFarland, who said he had class with Cho Seung-hui, called the plays "very graphic" and "extremely disturbing."

McFarland is an employee of America Online, which has provided the writings to CNN.

"It was like something out of a nightmare," McFarland wrote in a blog. "The plays had really twisted, macabre violence that used weapons I wouldn't have even thought of.

"Before Cho got to class that day, we students were talking to each other with serious worry about whether he could be a school shooter.

A university official also said that Cho scribed writings so "disturbing" they were sent to administrators, a university official said Tuesday.

The official did not provide details about the writings, which first came to the attention of faculty in the English department, but said they were passed on to the department chairwoman and university administrators.

Cho left a long and vitriolic note in his dorm room, law enforcement sources told ABC News. It contained an explanation of his actions and states, "You caused me to do this," ABC News reported.

It also railed against "rich kids," "debauchery" and "deceitful charlatans" on campus, according to the Chicago Tribune.
