LEVACK, Ont. (CP) - A new record has been set in northern Ontario for the world's largest slab of fudge.
The confection of sugar, cream, butter, corn syrup and vegetable oil tipped the scales at 2,290 kilograms. The slab was about 14 metres long, two metres wide and 10 centimetres thick. The Northwest Fudge Factory of Levack, Ont., northwest of Sudbury, shattered the old record that it set two years ago, when it created a 2,000-kilogram slab.
The fudge was made as part of a fundraiser for a local nursing home.
The flavour? Creamy vanilla chocolate.
