Muruments got a two weeks notice last year...this year he knows he will be there..what can he do then? Savickas..must be hungry now after losing at IFSA worlds Vasil: The thropy that he misses is Arnolds first place Koklaev, a great strongman but still only one grand prix win on his record..maybe he will be in top? Poundstone, interesting to see! Pudzianowski..will he be there and improve his altime high place (5:th)? Bennidikt has an invite I belive Wanta, his presses will be interesting to see! Hollands will be there! |

Pfister should have a spot. Pudzianowski should go I think and honor the fact that since inception every WSM has accepted their invite. Would look bad if Wenta goes and he doesn't. That is gonna be some intense warm-up area with Vasyl and Mariusz being champs again, and all the newcomers looking to make a mark!! Can't wait!!! Here's to everyone staying healthy and coming in at their best shape! |

I think we can safely say that about Arnolds, IFSA Worlds, and WSMs for a few years to come . I don't see the talent going down any time soon.

you know I would like them to invite Andy Bolton. I mean since USAPL is doing the powerlifting now that means he should be free to do strongman. I would love to see what he could do now if he just trained for the arnold strongman. |

Winner of different events (assuming it will be the same events as last year) Frame walk: Muruments Apollon: Savickas Dumbell: Vasil (8 easy reps on Europeans was impressive) Deadlift: Savickas Stones: Savickas (this is the hardest event to predict! Yoke: Vasil (Savickas has won this earlier but I think Vasil will take it this time) |

That is quite the prediction. Andrus ran with the frame to break the WR. What is Hollands frame times like? Ortmayer said that it is the hardest and heaviest frame he's ever done in a competition, a beast. Rumors are running around about the axle being increased to 200kg and some other changes...but I don't this is true because I think TT would like to keep the Apollon's true to the historical original. I know that they are trying to figure out how to make the contest more difficult for 08 though, how they do it is the question. |

I wrote my predictions on what I think will happen! Of cource the outcome can be different in all events but I belive my bets have the lowest odds? Will Siders be there this year? |

Looking at the Arnold Classic site it's mentions Poundstone, Pfister & Muruments taking part in 2008. |

A 200kg Axle would be too heavy. I believe that the current one is around 168kg?? So putting it up to 180 is entirly possible, and probably neccesary with the way Savikas is pressing at the moment. A 200kg axle would be too heavy to clean. It's certainly shaping up to be a great contest, hope they have some/alot of head to heads in the contest for once. |

The EXPO itself is at the Hyatt Convention Center and is where all events on Day One and 2 events on Day Two is held. It only costs like $10-15 for an all day pass to everything, this includes Fitness, and Figure prejudging (get there early for that or you'll need binoculars, haha), all the Olympic and Powerlifting, Boxing, Lou Ferrigno, ladies running around half naked...everything pretty much. The CLASSIC is final event and trophy handout and takes place at the Veteran's Memorial in the evening of Day Two. That ticket will cost you maybe $50 on up. You'll see the BB (CLASSIC) finals also with that. Overall it is worth it and is a good way to wrap up the weekend! It is the first weekend of March (Day One Friday Feb 28, Day Two Saturday Mar 1, Day Three Mar 2) |

I was wondering about the axle. Would it be better to make it heavier or make the rules more strick as in only a true clean rather than a continental or use of a overhand/underhand grip? Actually the latter I think might eliminate almost everyone. I also hope Siders is invited. He is just too strong in the Axle and deadlit not to invite. Again I hope they invite Bolton but I doubt thats going to happen. |
