would it be a stretch to say that maybe Big Z performance today
and yesterday might just be physically the strongest performance
of any human being in the history of strength athletics? Would that
be a stretch?

I think it would be fair to say that by the end of this comp Savickas performance could be one of the greatest all round displays of strength ever seen

From now on they should have separate heavier weights for Savikas, cause clearly these ones are to light.

Hopefully the turn around time for getting this onto Eurosport will be similar to Mohegan.

Big Z is just epic really, simple as that.

Updates are fantastic as well. Respect to Anders, Garrick and Tom.

A strange thing is that Svensson wrote that they started in the order that the super youke results are written....that make no sence considering the results in the stones...

Hey anders. I posted a youtube of Siders doing a training yoke
and it was impressive but having said that I am still surprised.

Maybe my prediction that misha will get 2nd place will be wrong. Its
looking like Poundstone will get 2nd place but lets wait and see.

BTW expect Siders to do well in the axle.

well for you maybe, but not for me :P

Then there’s Sider’s who’s expected to be awesome in the deadlift and Axle, but who’s got the ability to do very well in the frame, yoke and dumbbell press. He would have won the yoke last year had he not dropped it 2 yards from the line.

By my calcs
Big Z 41.5 pts
Poundstone 38
Koklyaev 29

with one event to go

Baring an injury Savikas has it

Derek is assured of second place so if his pecs bad he really should sit out the axle

Unreal performance by all-if Savickas breaks WRin axle again-his performance at this show, has got to be the greatest display of documented strength EVER.

I hope he does, it would be stupid, er actually foolhardy is a better word (I ain't calling Derek Stupid :lol )

The Big Z's been awesome again. Wonder if he'll go all out in the Axle to try and beat Siders or where he'll take it easy and just do 7-8reps :P

I recon that Siders will get 9 reps, can't see 10 being reached.

Odd bit about the stones, not sure i read it right, russian is not a good language for me.

But, where there were ties for reps in the stones, instead of choosing places by time, it was just judged to decide placings .

Not sure what the judging criteria was.

Again, this is from a foreign language so...

Some more info from Katerina at the PLSE forum regarding the judging criteria:

- Last year both MacDonald and Z lifted the 238 kg stone for 1 rep. Fastest time decided the winner. This year, time was not considered, just the number of repetitions. Katerina
said that Mikhail lifted the stone faster [than Poundstone, who also got 1 rep], but this was not taken into account.

- The last place on the stones (Magnusson, Siders, Murumets) was given 3 points, regardless of repetition number. The russian and ukrainian representations went to talk with the judges about these.."inconsistencies"... in the criteria, but the judges stood by their decisions, which by the way are convenient to certain parties...

Some opinions from me:

- I don't like draws. Poundstone and Koklyaev got 1 rep. Fastest time wins. Don't want to do that ? Then, number of reps with the lighter stone wins.

- No lifts = no points; that is the commonly used and logical criteria. I don't see why competitors who did not manage any rep should be awarded points.

that 9.3 seconds from Siders was the new record? right?

Well meanwhile I guess we just have to wait for word of the Appollon
wheels which should be finished now.
