So I've been squatting more, and heavier lately; good news, my right knee has not felt this good in ages, the bad news is me left hip flexor feels left out and is sore as a motherfuck. It bothers me during my warm-up sets the most, I don't even notice it when I do my heavier sets- i do stretch hips before squatting, and don't notice any particular discomfort or tightness there. Any ideas? I seem to recall someone lying on a tennis ball for something similar, don't know if that's a good idea or not. |

Some questions: - How do you squat? High bar or low bar ? What kind of stance and style? - Do you use shoes with a raised heel? - What kind of warmup do you do? When you say you stretch your hips before squatting, I take it you mean light dynamic stretches ? - (If you do them) Do you also feel this discomfort on the recovery phases of the snatch and clean? |

I squat sort of a medium high bar- not right up on the neck but not down below the shoulders either. Slightly wider than shoulder width- regular cross trainer type shoes. For warm-up I do a couple of sets on split squats and BW squats, then I do this stretch: ![]() I don't do snatch or cleans anymore, so I couldn't say. I don't notice it deadlifting though. or at least I don't recall feeling it recently anyway. |

Difficult to say without seeing you do the movement in person, but I would advise the following, if possible: - Use weightlifting shoes with a raised heel. They are good for your style of squatting. The whole body positioning will greatly improve. - Eliminate the split squats and those stretches from your warmup. Just do some more sets of bodyweight squats or of the squat itself; or you can warm up with complexes like for example: 3 snatch + 3 front squat + 3 push press etc... The point is: warm up with exercises which use both legs at the same time. Let me know how it works out. |

I did, I e-mailed you- I've been doing it and ashamed to say I've not gotten fully through the 20 minute one doing everything- I feel great afterwards. I did get close the Sunday night though. I'm getting there. I am constantly distracted by the black girl's boobs though. |

In the 30 minute workout, there's a girl, Gillian, next to Page, who falls out of her damn clothes through out the whole thing. |

Ok, I'll run that one tonight- I haven't even looked at the 30 or 60 yet as I suck at the 20 so bad. If I was able to do these consistently for a year, I wonder where I'd be at physically. |

The 30s not harder than the 20, just longer. |
