The powerlifter that got 12 reps on the DL was Mick Ashurst. It was his first strongman comp. He just needs to work on his OH now.

Excellent result for Big Loz today. He pushed really hard and deserved the win no doubts about that. The other competitors and all the helper and Ade Rollinson also deserve huge credit for a great competition. The whole thing was run in less than 4 hours. That was tough on the guys but it gave the crowd less time in between events - something TWI could take a heed from. You have to give Ade and the other qualifier organizers a lot of credit for doing this out of nothing more than a love for the sport. IMO TWI have a lot to answer for , for not giving back to the sport, they just take, take, take.

Anyway...enough of my ranting...Laurence came of age today and I believe everyone in the Uk will now see he is a force to be reckoned with. A good showing at Britain's and the World beckons.

Top work Loz! Sounds like a great day.

Good work from Mick on the deadlift too, shame he didn't get a rep on the Viking press because I'm sure he would have done very well on the last 3 events. Look out for good things from him in the future!

Good luck at the finals Loz!

Well done mate :drunk, Belive me the pleasure was all ours to come up to se a bloody good comp well run, Hope the back is easing abit, and pushing yourself in the last event even though you didn't have to just proves what strongman and the the strive to win really means to you mate you just never gave up even when you didn't need to try so hard...Bloody well done (Same goes to the rest of the competitors too)

Also really nice to put some names to faces, Good to have met you Tat and Mr Frampton you are one hell of a BIG monster, good luck with all your up coming comps.

All the best and if this comp is anything to go by BSM this year is going to be a bloody tough one...! :P
