Derek Poundstone has officially confirmed that he will be competing at the Eleiko WSM Super Series set for Madison Square Garden on June 21, so if you haven’t already bought your ticket, go get it now.

“It’s not just about ‘Poundstone versus Pudzianowski’ . . . it’s about all the athletes,” Derek Poundstone told IronMind, but the truth is, everyone would like to see a rematch between the two guys seen as favorites to win the 2008 World’s Strongest Man contest, as they headline a card that will make strongman history in the United States.

Talking about his need to focus on “the biggest and the best shows” at this point, Poundstone said he’s “very, very excited about being at the Garden . . . it’s the frigging Garden - what more do you need to say?!”

Think Hugo Girard & Magnus Samuelsson are confirmed as well.

Wow, so Hugo is coming back. Will be interesting to see him compete again. Does anyone know if he is in great shape or healed up properly.

You know Derek Poundstone is the person who tested the Conan's in 2006 Mohegan. Said it was too light so they bumped the weight up to the close to 1000lbs it became. Just an interesting fact.

It wasn't the weight that was the issue -- apparently it "felt like nothing". It was the fact that the bar was bouncing up and down like a whore's mattress.

According to Ironmind, a certain strongman by the name of Travis Ortmayer will be competing.

Certainly like to keep yourself busy Travis. Good luck big lad.

Im over the moon that the IFSA guys are crossing over to WSM its about time we started seeing the best guys compete, and Travis and Derek deserve the praise they will get, and the general public will finally see Americas best compete. Personally i am sick of watching a watered down WSM and hope all the IFSA guys compete, even if it does spell the end of IFSA.

By the time WSM comes around, hopefully we will have alot more IFSA guys competiting, i cant wait.

Ps - I have not heard anyone mention Knee or Ostland on marunde muscle for a while, and i dont suppose they will now that travis and derek are in town.

My top 4 prediction based on the strongman who will be competiting,

Derek
Travis
Marius
Felix

Its going to be a tough time gaining a place at WSM and an even tougher time winning the comp.

Thats brilliant - but in all seriousness he might make us eat all our words, he sounds like he could be a strong bloke, and the way IFSA keeps losing its strongmen Farzad may well win the IFSA worlds.

Fingers crossed Micha will leave and do WSM.

I hope Oli does compete at the SS/WSM, as I rate him as good as Travis and Derek, and hes kind of in the same situation where they have used IFSA to compete and learn with the best before jumping ship.

Oli's open to offers and would love to compete, but having 9 months off due to injury has kind of left him in limbo, but he is very fired up for BSM. I don't think Oli would put himself quite on a par with the likes of Poundstone, but he is bigger and stronger than he's ever been.

Any chance you could ask Oli to post on here and tell us hows he doing and what his future plans are ?

I reckon big Terry is in the same league as Travis and Derek, and I think a fully fit Oli could possibly edge out Terry, so hopefully he will get the chance to compete. Hopefully after BSM he will be back on the map again.

Not sure if Oli is as good as Farzad though ? can Farzad compete at the Britains ? dual nationality and all that.

blahblahblah IFSA blahblahblah IFSA blahblahIFSA.

... Knee or Ostland

Fucking give it a rest. No more IFSA/WSM whatever fed crap. You are the only one who cares so fucking drop it, and if you climb any higher on the nutsack of Farzad or anyone WHO HASN'T EVEN FINISHED A CONTEST you can post elsewhere, permanently.

And it's NEE, no fucking K, have some respect.

Oli is 22 stone+ at the moment Tom in muscular condition. He pulled 410kg (using straps as he's still a bit wary of the recovering bicep when lifting top end but no suits). I watched him clean 165kg on an IFSA spec log and press it 8 times with little or no leg drive the other day. He's working hard on his grip and farmers and is doing well on the stones as usual.

No crying here, if you have a relevant useful post to make by all means speak up- if you're just here to be the mouthpiece for IFSA and fucking Farzad then you can fuck right off.

IFSA competitons and athletes can stand on their own merits, same with WSM or whatever.

Why would those remarks be anly less retarded than anything else you've said previously?

You set a remarkably low standard for yourself to begin with when asshat statements are taken as read.

I ain't stupid and I ain't thick- I'm too skinny to be thick. Arsehole, well sure.

But you? You're hopeless.
