Russian Strongman League Final; PLSE

Last sunday in Moscow the 2007 russian strongman league came to its final round. Koklyaev, despite having a knee injury sustained in February, managed to win the competition:

1. Mikhail Koklyaev 57,0
2. Aleksandr Klyushev 47,5
3. Vladimir Kalinichenko 43,5
4. Denis Tsiplenkov 41,5
5. Stanislav Poleshchuk 33,5
6. Mikhail Sidorichev 31,5
7. Aleksey Samsonov 23,5
8. Igor' Pedan 21,5
9. Valeriy Snegirev 18,0
10. Vladimir Glushko 3,5

Pedan seems to have a tough time...Does he have problems with injuries or is it so that the others are improving?

Pedan and Glushko sustained injuries. Glushko withdrew right after the first event (log), while Pedan managed to hold on until the 4th event (total of 6 events), after which he had to abandon.

Pedan's son was born just 15/16 days before the competition, so I guess he has a lot on his mind other than the weights.

But it is also true that others are improving, among them Kalinichenko and especially Klyushev. With some more experience and training, he will make a big impact on the international strongman scene. Very strong deadlifter.
