Couple of very ignorant questions from a spectators viewpoint.

How many events would one do in the qualifying round? I assume only 2 on the first day as doing a safe lift after a viking press wouldn't be very impressive...

What is the aim of the wrestling? Get the opponent on his back or out the ring or what?

The same as you'll have seen in previous shows when they've been on TV (more than 2 events then). 2 events a day and no not similar (again as per TV you'll have seen different events done by different groups except in the final).

Have you ever watched the show??

Mobster, no I haven't watched BSM except for a few youtube clips. I live in New Zealand and have to find international sources just to watch WSM. Makes sense re the event layout, just have never seen a wrestling event in a strongman comp.

Ian Duggan invited me over here and I've been impresssed by the lack of PCness on the forum. Keep it up boys.

SDF is known for it. It can be frustrating having to be so fucking ass kissingly nice to people. In fact one can come here, have a damn good fucking swear and then go back and be all nicey, nice in the usual places. :hug

Anyway... at least that explains it. On the WSM page (linked to earlier) the events are laid out. It's groups so one lot does viking press and another the (so-called) safe lift. One does tire and drag and the other tire and carry etc etc

As for the wrestling it HAS been done before but is 1) too fucking gay and 2) so easy to get hurt on one wonders if they give a shit.

It doesn't even look particularly good either - whilst many strongmen may have worked the doors etc they are not often top level grapplers. As has been said, it gives a redonculous advantage to the few who have that experience.

Its not a great strongman event but its there so i will have 2 do my best but what i dont understand is how can you have wrestling in a group of 5 men? they should do a royal rumble. 1 point for the first man out 5 for the last lol. at least with the wrestling i can go up to the camera and do my best Kurt Angle impression. ITS REAL!! ITS DAM REAL!!!!! :lol :lol

I have a suggestion for your training - everytime Steve talks for more than 30 seconds without stopping throw him to the ground. Actually no, that might be overtraining..... :D

Before a bout someone has to do a Nikoli Volkoff and sing the soviet national anthem.
