Another hardcore starring Olympiacos? I hope not !!

BUSH GAVROS
Well, a photo-joke exclusively for soccer fans from Greece...

A rare photo documentary that explains why Olympiacos win the championship
last years and who's the REAL man (no, no Socrates) behind !

FOTONOVEL
Wayne, I'll go this week and then let you know...I didn't find the time so far.
Cheers :)

HORROR, CULT & EXPLOITATION ON TV TONIGHT
Well, I'm back from an all-day trip. I had a nice Saturday with my wife and two relatives on the mountains around Korinthos, not very far from Athens. Near a lake, in the midle of nowhere I found an -almost closed- videoclub and I bought about 120 old VHS tapes...very cheap but nothing really special !!

OK, here we go for films on Greek TV today...

HORROR, CULT & EXPLOITATION ON TV TONIGHT
SATURDAY 28/10
---------------------

It's Saturday today but don't expect exploitation on Greek TV :(

Between many crappy films only one seems really interesting:
-ROOTS OF EVIL (US, 1992, sleazy thriller based on an older...porno flick
of the 80s !!)
Alter, 02.15 after midnight
IMDb INFO: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102806/

I'll try to watch it but I'm not sure as I'll be on a trip outside Athens all day

Cheers !! :P

HORROR, CULT & EXPLOITATION ON TV TONIGHT
Only a few I'm affraid...

But the new digital CINE+ have a lot as it seems they buy from Italy mainly.
It's a new channel and don't post its program in the magazines & newspapers yet...

HORROR, CULT & EXPLOITATION ON TV TONIGHT
I would like to inform you here about horror, cult & exploitation films on Greek TV (daily, or...well, as often as I can).

Today Friday 27/10 after midnight you could see:
----------------------------------------------------------

-REALITY CHECK (US, 2002)
Star Channel, 01.00
IMDb INFO: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285976/

-THE MUMMY LIVES (US, 1993)
Alter, 02.15
IMDb INFO: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107618/

Both look bad... :(

SKY HITS BACK TODAY
Greek SKY TV channel is back with a powerful program.

Today & Every Friday you could enjoy:
-At 21.00 the remake of the cult sci-fi 60s series DR. WHO, produced by BBC.
-At 22.15 the new sc-fi series "4.400" about 4.400 people who had been kidnaped by aliens and now return to earth...mysteriously changed.
-At 23.00 the crime/mystery series "CSI: NEW YORK" about a tough police squad that fight crime in NY using hi-tech...

The only BAD thing is that DR. WHO will be Greek speaking.

By the way, the same channel every Tuesday at 21.00 plays SPOOKS spy series
(see photo below)

It seems that the channel has started a nice cooperation with BBC so I hope for more in the future !

BHAYAANAK
They have them but less than dramas or comedies...These parts are silly but in horror films look interesting & strange sometimes. It's a common and basic element in Bollywood, a film without them means nothing at all for Indians, so I accept them easily.

LANETLI KADINLAR
I agree about nothing special...but I like the starlets so much, especially Nur Incegul, and that makes it very enjoyable !

ONAR FILMS CHRONICLE
Some Turkish films are crap but I really like Turkish exploitation of all genres. They have produced a few excellent giallo movies and, beleive me, when you'll watch Onar's upcoming double-bill you'll change your mind. Don't be so negative about Turkish horror, maybe you've watched the worst so far...

THE HAUNTED HOUSE (DVD)
Hm...I haven't done any detailed research but I guess you can't find that much.
A place with Egyptian & Arabic DVDs is PYRAMID IMPORTS megastores. If I remember well they had this one here...

Their URL is:

MONDO MACABRO NEW RELEASE
Welcome horrormania !!

I guess you mean the Mondo Macabro DVD as your first priority...because the book is rather too old.

Another great book is FEAR WITHOUT FRONTIERS, also British, with 320 pages and many topics about Turkish/Hindi/Indonesian/Polish/Mexican/korean/Filipino/French etc horror industries !!

It's by FAB PRESS PUBLICATION
http://www.fabpress.com

SWEET COZY VIDEO
SWEET COZY VIDEO is an online exchange center. In fact this site is the huge collection of Jonas, a great Swedish collector. His entire collection with covers (when exist) and details of original VHS & copies (plus DVDs) from around the world.

Jonas clearly says that he doesn't sell. You could send him your lists for swap but even if you have nothing interesting for him there is his "DVD want list" so you could buy any of his wants for him and do the trade.

The site itself is very nice, you could search for hours looking those rare covers of old VHS...Site is in English of course. You can search by genre, by country or by letter. Also there's a FAQ page with all the details of how this site works, the DVD page and his "want list" page.

Well, go there and take a ride. What are you waiting for? :)

NATIONAL STAR
Yes !! Both...humans...and chihuahuas !!!

ONAR FILMS CHRONICLE
Bill, the man behind ONAR FILMS just started the chronicle of his new release, the Turkish horror double-bill...He mention all problems he faced last months with his product. DVD seems will be out by the end of November.

Chronicle will be updated often so keep visiting the site for all the hot news:

I can't wait to catch this GEM in my hands !!

LANETLI KADINLAR
LANETLI KADINLAR

Turkish sleazy horror directed by Kadir Akgun in 198?
Cast: Nur Incegul, Silver Turk, Hulya Konuk, Ayla
Tuncer, Figen Andogdu, Aysin Soylu, Hicran.

Seven sexy women receive a strange invitation for
the weekend at an isolated villa. The big house looks
dark and empty but soon they discover the dead body
of an old man in the garden. They decide to spend
the night there as the house is far away from the city
and the phone doesn't work. But a dark shadow
dressed in black and wearing black gloves (giallo reference)
start to kill them one by one with a huge knife.

Sleazy and eerie turkish giallo/horror starring seven of the most sexy
turkish actresses of the 80s (especially Nur Incegul, one of the most
beautiful 40+ lady I've ever seen) !!

The movie is obviously shot straight to video and
of course this is a disadvantage...

CIRPINIS
CIRPINIS (="Spasms")

Turkish sleazy horror directed by Samim Utku.
Cast: Zerrim Dogam, Hakan Ozer, Erdine Akbas,
Yuksel Gozen, Orhan Alkan, Ercan Yosun

A very scary turkish horror film indeed. Not with plenty of gore or blood or violence but with many well-done terror sequences.

A rich married lady receives hateful letters by un unknown man. She also gets dirty & threating phonecalls. Soon she finds out that a strange shadow is after her in the streets. Neither the police and her beloved husband seem to take her seriously. Soon she needs pills to sleep but she can't rest even in her sleep as she has terrible nightmares about a man dressed in black, with black gloves & hat and his face covered who uses violence and takes naked photos of her before strangling her. A cold night the killer is outside her window. Later he murders their servant with a knife...Well, I'll not tell how the end goes but is rather typical...

As I said the film is pretty scary and the killer's figure reminds me the gialli. Acting is bad (as most of these films) and the music score is either thriller themes or hot euro-disco (Cerrone maybe?).
There's also a mistake in one scene as the lady wears long sexy stockings but a few seconds later -into the same scene- they have gone mysteriously !!
Also in another scene there's snow outside but her husband sleeps almost naked...!

The film has a lot of nudity and three long sexy scenes between the married couple. Strong scenes, almost hardcore (in fact there are a few real h/c inserts in the first scene). These scenes are with the real actors but it seems they shot them later to hit the sexploitation market...

A nice example of the turkish horror / (s)exploitation cinema !! :)

FIVE HOT WOMEN
FIVE HOT WOMEN
(ATESLI DELIKANLI / BES ATESLI KADIN)

Turkish sleazy & scary horror comedy.
Directed by Seyfettin Tiryaki in 1968.
Cast: Cuneyt Arkin, Hulya Darcan, Saner Film, Renkli Studyosu

A house of ghosts, supernatural powers, a sexy
female ghost 200 years old, weird murders that
took place many years ago and want a
solution...

A very "different" film with the giant Cuneyt Arkin !! :)

CIRKIN DUNYA
CIRKIN DUNYA

Turkish sick erotic horror directed by Osman F. Seden in 1974.
Cast: Hulya Kocyigit, Savas Basar, Dogan Bavli, Oktar
Durakan,Bulent Kayabas, Gunfer Ferry

A bunch of lunatic criminals try to hide themselves into a
villa out of Istanbul. They keep a rich married couple and
their little boy as hostages.

A lot of sickness and pure violence here, as these guys
hit the little child to death in front of his mother eyes, they
rape the lady several times in front of her husband, etc...

One of the most violent horror thrillers of all times, with a
lot of cruel and tragic moments. It seems like a turkish
answer to "Last House On The Left" shot in 1974 (!!), but
even better, beleive me.

You could find it around on an English-subtitled (!!) DVD-R
with the title "LAST HOUSE IN ISTANBUL" that is not formal.
