Please write topic titles in capitals :D

HORROR, CULT & EXPLOITATION ON TV TONIGHT
I didn't know AMORES PERROS is so good, I'll keep an eye for it (greek channels always do repetitions).

As for H20 the new digital CINE+ plays many Italian films so I hope for it...

America destroyed the man :(

US GORY FILM - ANY HELP?
Wayne, i just can't beleive it, we were looking at that IMDb page at the same minute! Just after I read your first post about it I runned there...

It was PTERODACTYL alright, thank you, your help was precious again :D

Of course they don't make those films the same anymore...but i enjoyed this one !!

IMDb INFO: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452668/

US GORY FILM - ANY HELP?
Yesterday after midnight I saw on TV a film that weren't in the TV mags. I missed the credits :( but maybe you could help...

It was a US film probably from the 90s (?). A university teacher with some students travel to the border of Turkey/Armenia to study the environment.
A US troop is there to fight local terrorists (the film presents them as bad guys who wants to rape girls etc...but I'll skip these usual political incorrect nonsense)
Some huge prohistorical birds -pterodactylous- come out of a volcano and attack to all of them (soldiers, terrorists & students). The "birds" has been succesfully designed (by computer I suppose) with great moves. They catch the humans and get them to their nest on high rocks to feed their newborns. But also they butcher their victims sometimes.

OK, it was a newer movie without that "old feeling" and with some stupid jokes...But cool really, with tons of gore (great f/x) !! Decapitation, cuting arms and foot, a body cut in half, two men eaten alive in the nest by the newborn birds...Really tons of gore, a very bloody movie for strong stomaches.

But could anyone help me with the title please? :o

HORROR, CULT & EXPLOITATION ON TV TONIGHT
ANT1 plays some interesting films late at night but they give them to the TV mags just as "Foreign Movie" so you don't know what to expect...

On Sunday after midnight they play ONE-ARMED SWORDSMAN with Wang Yu in Chinese language !!

Yesterday night they had a gory US film that I missed the credits :(
I write about it in another thread.

HORROR STORIES
Yes, of course I'll record them !! :)

EUROTIKA & MONDO MACABRO DOCS.
WOW !! Wayne, you're amazing !! Great info for me. I had heard some of them now and then but you gave me the whole story. Great TV series really...

I didn't know Tombs were involved in so many things...I have many PAGAN titles in my collection but i never noticed it was his baby.

Some sellers on ebay offer DVD-R horrors from Turkey & India with English subtitles, titles that haven't been released officially subtitled yet...I suppose they recorded them by those UK-TV glorious nights ?

HORROR STORIES
ANT1 channel announced a new Greek horror series for the beginning of 2007 (after Christmas): ISTORIES TROMOU (= Horror Stories) !!! :)

Well, I have no farther info at the moment, I'm sorry, but I'll come back with it soon. We need something like that on Greek TV, don't you think?

LUCIFERA ILLUMINATRIX
LUCIFERA ILLUMINATRIX is a Greek cult DVD store on-line. They sell DVDs from Greece, Europe (Germany, UK, Italy, Denmark...), Korea & USA, mainly from exploitation & erotica genres. There are Greek & English versions of the site (just click on the flag)

Site is very beautiful, many rare titles, detailed info about each one, and if you click on the covers you could see them very large (one of the best points in the site). Another good thing is that you have the Shopping Cart always watchable while you do the search.
Also it works as a...blog as you could write a review per each film !
(There are no reviews yet)

There are a lot of payment methods including COD into Greece. Of course they ship worldwide.

First page shows the new titles of the month. And then you could search the categories: Cult Exploitation / Erotic / Classic Hardcore / Hardcore / Underground Art / Anime Manga / Specials / 7" Vinyl Singles (strange, eh?)

There is also a Downloads section that is a place with photos free to get copied or downloaded. This section has 3 Photo Galleries: 70s Photo Galleries / Brigitte Lahaie / Dyanne Thorne. It also has a place with Posters.

Also there are info pages: Links, Conditions of Use, Privacy Notice, Shipping & Returns, Contact Us

Prices are cheap for the Greek DVDs. As for the rest some are cheap some expensive...
Titles are available to ship immediately. This is great because we suffer with many stores that delay shipping because DVDs are not in stock. If a title is not in stock they mention "sold out", very simple indeed.

You could also search by keywords or by Studio. Don't expect thousands of titles but you'll find some rarities that you probably haven't seen anywhere else. :)

GREEK EROTICA BOOK
GREEK EROTICA
--------------------

Tsagarousianos Publications, Greece, 2005 (3.000 copies)
Written by Vasos Yiorgas (photos taken from his personal collection)

The best book about Greek sexploitation, softcore & hardcore, from 1955 to 1985.
A hardcover book with almost 500 glossy pages, too many -about 600- colour & b/w rare photos, lobby cards & posters, articles about the genre and many small reviews...Most important is that text is both in Greek & English !!
At the end there are two lists of 350 movies of the genre, one Greek and one in English.
Movies come with full credits (director, year, cast, producer, running time)

This book is a must for all collectors of Greek sexploitation here and abroad. The rare photos and the English text are its most powerful elements. Of course there are a lot of things that could be told, as a comparison of several versions of the films or info about alternative titles...Also we don't know when the English title is a translation or a formal one...And about the lists at the end of the book, I beleive a few films are erotic arthouse and not sexploitation. But nobody is perfect...

A great book, go for it !!

VASSILIS TSARTAS
I hope Tsiartas will not read that...

BLOOD HUNT
BLOOD HUNT
----------------

Filipino Action / Drama directed by Armando de Guzman in 1981.
Cast: Rudy Fernandez, Phillip Gamboa, Charo Santos, Mat Ranillo III, Romnick

When I read the title and I saw the sleeve of the VHS I thought this might be a very strong & bloody action thriller. Watching it I realize it's a drama actually with some fights in. The whole story, the acting and the direction strangely remind me some similar Turkish films with Cuneyt Arkin. Even the main hero/father is like a Filipino Cuneyt arkin with moustache !!

A poor guy works for a gambler. He's a brave man of honour. A beautiful girl is in love with him but her mother doesn't like him because he's poor and she force her daughter to another man, a rich one who loves her. Finally the girl will marry our hero. Soon their family has a new member, a son. One day the boy is sick to death and needs an urgent surgery. The father asks money from his boss. the two men fight and accidentally he kills him. Now he's in prison...and sacrifies himself: He let his woman free !

She marries the rich man then but the boy doesn't like that. He always hold his father's photo in his pocket and he wish he'll find him some day. The father is getting out of the prison because he saved the director's life from a lunatic. Meanwhile the boy leaves the house and start a dangerous life on the roads of Manilla. That life leads him to his father...

Well, I'll not write the whole story here. As you understand it's mainly a drama with the same motive as many Cuneyt Arkin films - a father who tries to save his son from the gangsters.

As for the end, the father is getting shot & killed in front of his son trying to save him. One of the most tragic endings to the history of the cinema, the end also reminded me A LOT some Arkin's gems.

I know many of you will find the film rather boring and full of children and tears...You probably haven't seen those Arkin films I'm talking about or...you're not the father of a son like I am...!!

A really nice flick.

ONAR FILMS CHRONICLE
Welcome to the forum ONARFILMS :)

Tobias, we do nice swaps and you know I'm your friend, but I have to say I also don't like urgements & misunderstandings. I feel Bill is very upset with your words, I know you're not...rude (!) but you DO sound rude when you call a man "amateur & not serious". I wouldn't speak like that for anybody so easy, especially if I don't know him in person. As Bill said very often even BIG companies delay their DVDs or CDs, I know MANY examples. You cannot judge a man so easily just by that.

Of course you could have your opinions and you're free to criticize, I'm with you about that, but ONAR FILMS provides ELEMENTS in their site that Bill is not responsible for the delays...A few guys in Turkey are...and maybe bad luck.

I'm not a professional myself and I don't give a damn about...streetdates, I can't wait to see the DVD, I'm sure will be SUPERB !!
