TRASHY FILIPINO WAR MOVIES
Have any of you got a Willie Milan film entitled Revenge of the Street Warrior ?? According to Andrew Leavold's blog:

http://bamboogodsandbionicboys.blogspot.co...-warrior-f.html

...it's supposed to be aka MAD KILLER. However, I recently got the Greek tape for MAD KILLER and the description of REVENGE on IMDb:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0388372/

Quote:

Owner of a small business in the market gets tired of being beaten by the leader of a street gang and kills him, becoming a popular hero himself. Afterwards, he finds out he's being manipulated and accused of political crimes. He plans a revenge.

...sounds NOTHING like the plot of MAD KILLER (soldier returns home from Vietnam and is thrown in jail for killing a cop who raped his retarded, dancing sister).

Any help would be appreciated.

The Youtube tag says: "Fury of the Heaven" !

Cool! B)

Got something to say about Asian movies
I found a poster (at a certain poster store on eBay) for this seemingly wild Taiwanese film. The title is Hsueh-Kang Crashed the Flower Lantern Fair and it was directed by a guy called Simon Li Kuo-Hua in 1970. There's an entry for it on Hong Kong Movie Data Base and it's described as a "fantasy film". Do any of you know if it's ever been released in any home-cinema format? Petcor80, do you know this one?

Both the danish releases that I know of, has the tagline 'nu er den her igen'... Translated: 'Now it's here again'... If both releases has this tagline, both releases might be re-releases... But where is the first release then... What does it look like... I've never seen it... Have you, Jack?... Dag-Johnny?... anyone?

Here's my theory:
THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE ran in the Danish cinemas in the 1970s and since the video tapes weren't released till sometime in the 1980s the tag-line may very well be a reference to the film when it was shown at the cinemas. People hadn't been able to watch it for 10 years but now it was "back".

Oh, and I have that very rare tape as well. LOL. Got it from Chris in Austria.

(CV-699)

You muppet! The cover clearly says THE SPIRAL. :P

I have this VCD and it's a film based on the same books as the RINGU films but (I think) it was made by another company. It's really "Ring 2". The Japanese title is RASEN. The VCD doesn't have English subs, unfortunately.

Ho sweet!

I will start this week re-writting the script from the VHS and send it to you when it's done.

I don't think I quite follow you? What do you mean "re-write the script"? I've already got the Swedish vhs version on a DVD-r directly off Lars Jacobsen's tape. I'll just translate the subtitles from there.

By the way, does anybody speaks Scandinavian or knows a good Scandinave translator program? (Also, is that tape of Ghost of Guts Eater from Scandinave?).

Yes the tape is from Scandinavia, Sweden to be exact. And yes I speak "Scandinavian". I'm going to translate the subs at some stage (unless someone beats me to it).
