BILL PASSED AWAY TODAY...RIP MY FRIEND
The two ZAGOR titles came out on dvd soon after Bill's passing. From an Italian label. English subs but no extras. The extras are put away in Turkey and will probably never see the light of day. I've heard some of what was made and it's heartbreaking that it'll never get out. I know Jason Meredith (a Brit living in Sweden, and old friend of Bill's) talked about continuing ONAR for those two releases but it never happened.

Maybe "Employed to die" or "Death employment". :D

Thanks, and yes I think it's pretty cool too. I bought it from a seller in Canada who didn't know what the film was (it was listed without a title).

Facing some health problems in the upper-room myself so though I never met him, Bill comes to mind a lot lately...

I'll post more comments later but let me just say that I'm sorry to hear that. I certainly hope there's a cure for you, no matter what the upper room problems are.

Btw, do you know the wonderful blog DIE DANGER, DIE, DIE, KILL!? I'm sure you do. I thought I'd post something to make you be able to relate to another film fan person than Bill, someone who pulled thru. Todd from that blog had problems of the same kind earlier this year but he came out on the other side and is well again. Here's his post about it:

I think I can find it for you. I live in Bangkok. Tell me if you're still interested. I might be able to get the first one too.

That would certainly be nice. :hello!:

And welcome to Cinehound.

Painting
Are they sleeping with the fishes? Were they done in by the mob?

Great painting, mate. In the words of Harvey Pekar, "I can't even draw a line straight".

Tom, my post wasn't really a criticism of the way the forum has changed. Just a (sad) observation. We've talked about it before and there's nothing to be done about it. You can't change it. Times change, unfortunately. Music was better in the old days too. Most new members here come to sell or buy films, not to talk about obscure cinema. And most of the old members who actually came here to talk about films, they have left because of the lack of interest. It's a never ending spiral and unfortunately there's nothing be done about it. If we prevented trade threads I'm afraid Cinehound would probably die out pretty quickly. Miltos doesn't even post reviews here anymore, that sort of says it all when the captain abandons ship.

Wayne, Cinehound has changede a lot. It's Cinehound eBay now. 97% of all posts are now sales related. Not really a forum about worldweird films anylonger. Personally, I have promised myself away to too much stuff elsewhere to be able to help with anything at this stage.

Wayne! Thanks, mate. I think it's important to keep the fb page afloat even if there aren't any new releases coming up, and it not just a tribute page but also the official shop for the remaining ONAR dvd sale (all the money goes to Bill's widow and kid).

Yes, a book would be awesome. And in this day and age I don't think you'd actually have to pay for a print run up front if it's released as a print on demand book.

I've been thinking of saving all entries on Bill's blog as well, you never know when a blog suddenly might get pulled down by Blogger.

Sorry to hear about all the lost emails. :(

PS: I'll send you a friend request. :hello!:

I've just posted about it over on facebook. You can see it here if you'd like:

(it's open to public, you don't have to be on my friend list)

Wait, is it today???

I don't remember most bad dates but I just checked the first post of this thread and Miltos posted it on May 11. I'm confused.

EDIT: Oh, I see!!! Miltos changed the title of the thread!!! That's what confused me.

Anyway, I did video recently about some of my dvd's and I showed off some Onar dvd's and talked a little about Bill.

He is so, so sorely missed. :( :( :(

RIP Giuliano. :(

skandinavian tapes
I'm sure you realise Præriens Skrappe Drenge isn't a Norwegian film, right? It's just a tape from Norway. The film is Danish.

The Danish western genre is called "kartoffel-western". The Italians have spaghetti westerns cos they eat a lot of spaghetti  but people in Denmark eat potatoes all the time so the Danish films are called "kartoffel-westerns" (potato westerns).
