European Trash Cinema, eh? That was a great mag. A pity Ledbetter closed it down.

CINEHOUND FORUM GROWING......
Linus, I'm so sorry, buddy.
I posted the beer scan at the uncut.dk forum and it seems Denmark and Sweden will be at war once again all due to that post (maybe this time we'll get Skåne, Halland and Blekinge back).

Check it here:

I'm so sorry, you'll probably have to go into hiding now. :P

On a serious note I am glad this forum have grewn as much as it had.

Jack,
I actually drank some very cheap beer yesterday called "glade dansken" :D

'The happy Dane'!? Hmm, I must admit I've never heard of that beer. Are you sure it wasn't called 'The loaded Swede'? :P

Jack, I'm really surprised that you recognise my name from that single article I wrote. I just did that piece as a favour for Henrik. And hello Linus, I do remember you from trading days. It's amazing how forums like this can conjure up the past.

Yeah, it's really a small world. :D

You can say that again! I read Ayman's articles on Turkish cinema and remember Henrik talking about him but I never actually got to know him and then, five years later, boom, I meet him here. And of course Linus wrote stuff for Obskuriøst as well! Yeah, small world. :D

THE KILLING KIND is a long lost masterpiece of psychological horror

"masterpiece of psychological horror "?

I remember Ant1 tv station used to screen it at least once a month in the past (around 4 in the morning)

'long lost' may be a slight exaggeration. It was out on Danish video and I've found quite a few of them only a few years ago.

But of course cool there's a DVD now.

haha. Jag är bara lite rolig idag:)

Other Danes who read this may get slightly confused but that's because 'rolig' doesn't mean rolig [lugn] but morsom, and readers from countries where people actually have a life probably just skip this post. <_<
Auch! Maybe I should just go watch some world weird movie
(and Miltos is probably shaking his fist and yelling Greek obscenities at us for being silly in Scandinavian) Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Introducing Yourself !
Hello skatschko,
Welcome and do feel at home!

CINEHOUND FORUM GROWING......
Uh, and if this were a Danish forum someone would probably, in a typically rude fashion, just say: 'Then write them yourself' - and well, I might just do that

Jack

CINEHOUND FORUM GROWING......
I've noticed that too and I ditto that acknowledgement. Cool with all the VHS findings and all.
However, having grown up on early The Cure records I'm bound to look at the slightly darker side ( ) of things and what I have also notice is that the forum is going in a more regular horror move direction like most other forums.
What attracted me to Cinehound (when I joined 15 years ago. ) was its being bent towards weird horror movies from weird countries. At Cinehound you could read about weird films from obscure places that no other forum would write about. It seems we get less and less posts about films from Turkey, India, The Philippines, etc. Or am I being too gloomy here?
I dunno. Pass me another beer.

Oh, and welcome to everyone who is new here.

AN INTRODUCTION
Hi there, Paul.
Into Italo horror, eh? Cool, me too. But, uhh, remember, there's more to horror movies than just Italy :D Around here we also fester on stuff from places like Turkey, Indonesia, Hong Kong, etc., (i.e. anywhere really). There's so much stuff from so many different places. Am rambling again. Welcome Paul!

IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT METIN DEMIRHAN
Good of you to mention it, Miltos. I watched Karanlik Sular aka The Serpent's Tale for the first time the other day, and it was sad to see the interview with the director knowing he (Metin, not the director) is gone now and won't be doing any more for the Turkish cult films. :(

Danish VHS Sleeves
To me Harrison radiates HK cut n' paste flicks. Godfrey Ho forever!

SCORPION THUNDERBOLT is probably thee best film ever made.

Jack

Danish VHS Sleeves
Yeah, let's!

So you finally got hold of DAWN OF THE MUMMY! 'A brand new and sexy horror film' as it says on the cover!

MAFIAENS SKRAPPE SKØER [Tough hussies of the mob]: I see it stars Richard Harrison, but is it a HK thing?
