Bidding went up quite high for this one, fortunately the one to finally outbid me didn't live up to his/her offer and in the end it went to me for my initial offer! :)

Nice to be lucky sometimes.

Big congrats with those tapes!

;) nice jack. i have the ocean shores tape of this!

Thanks. Yeah it is a beautiful cover! But unfortunately it seems you've got the better version as Spannick tells me the LD is slightly cut whereas the VHS is fully uncut. :(

FUTURE RELEASES FROM MONDO MACABRO
Thanks, Jared. I just checked the thread and that comment came from one of this forum's not so frequent members, Sweeney Todd, and he has in older posts expressed his excitement over MM's various releases so I guess (would hope) that that remark is solely meant for other companies that deserve it. He's obviously using a scattergun.

ALTIN COCUK, New Onar DVD...

About the Latarnia announcement...

I never go there (I could be wrong but I have a feeling they're a tad too serious for their own good on that board  ) and have no idea of what that "announcement" is all about. Anybody got a link?

4 Flies on Grey Velvet (Video Star NTSC)

I'm not very familiar with Italian movies on VHS: Is that that old almost legendary bootleg tape? :ph43r:

Got something to say about Asian movies
Hmm, maybe I should just ask our member Bakeneko; he's in Japan and he usually knows about these things.

Got something to say about Asian movies
Cool, thanks. I don't know if it's of any help to you but here's the seller's description of the film:

Quote:

This very rare - NO DVD release - 70s women of vengeance movie stars Chinese hottie Lin Ling who is oout for revenge after her boyfriend is gunned down by some syndicate. Lin Ling is joined by four hell bent for revenge girls (one in knee high cowhide boots!!) In the course of the action you get: female kung fu fighting, stick fighting, gun play, soft core sex, and lotsa bare bottoms and tops. At one point two women are gagged, bound and... you know. But they get revenge on their attackers - one knife into a bloody mess, the other groin stomped and left crippled on the floor.

Well, the reason I asked what it is ... is because I don't know what it is. Or where it comes from. So I can't tell you, my friend. But it could very well be from Taiwan. I have no idea. I'm getting the tape from Canada.

According to the seller there are no subs on the tape.

FUTURE RELEASES FROM MONDO MACABRO
Well, I wouldn't call DRACULA ISTANBUL'DA lost as it's already out on DVD. :D But unfortunately, it's not from MM but a Turkish company so it comes without subs (and yeah I'd love to see it from MM too). I hear there are subs somewhere online but I don't have them nor do I know how to get them.

I know this thread is about DVD purchases, but...

I bought some Malaysian/ Indonesian horror on VCD. Six movies so far. Will buy more soon.

“Sumpah Pontianak”
“Anak Pontianak”
“Mangsa Malat Juma’at Kliwot” – horror made in Indonesia with Suzzanna
“Mentang Ingit Cepat Kaya”
“Dendat Jumat Kliwot” – Indonesian snake horror I think
“Mereka Kembali Penangkal Ilmu Teluh 2” - directed by S.A Karim of "Makhluk Dari Kubur" fame.

So, Blackwood, I guess you're Embalmer, ay? :D

Very cool purchase there. Where did you buy them?

Btw, have you seen we have an Indo thread here:

FUTURE RELEASES FROM MONDO MACABRO
That would be very nice indeed. Or two double volumes like with their Bollywood films.

Got something to say about Asian movies
Do any of you know what this is? The only info I have is the English cover title: BLOOD SISTER and altho I've found several films by that title they don't seem to be the right one. This one (according to the eBay seller's page) is from the 70s.

Unfortunately, I have the ultimate sad job of having to deliver this message to you all. One of our forum members, kung fu fan Jocky aka Andrew Jones has passed away. :(

I can see he last logged in on December 4, and he passed away on December 12. I didn't know him personally but I remember his posts about kung fu cinema. He was a very passionate fan and people who knew him on kungFuCinema forum and FLK cinema forum have nothing but the best to say about him.

Apparently he had cancer and you can read details in a part of a letter sent to one of his friends on FLK:
http://flkcinema.com/Posts.asp?ForumID=2&R...50&Submit=Start

RIP Jocky. :(

FUTURE RELEASES FROM MONDO MACABRO
Well, if it goes OOP I guess that means enough people bought it to make it disappear which I guess is a good thing (that they bought it, not it going OOP). Maybe MM don't regard a reprint profitable. At least one of Onar's DVDs is gone too (one of the Kilink DVDs).

WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO NOW?

Re-read what I wrote at the end. ;)
