KILLING OF SATAN!!!!
The dvd sure as hell isn't a remastered delux release with tons of extras that's true - but it isn't crap either. The picutre quality is okay and on par with a video tape. This film has never been released on dvd before, and it's very difficult to find the old video releases, so it's nice that people can finally watch this awesome trash/horror flick at a cheap price.

Will you be selling your tape on eBay (do you have more than the one tape?)?

Hey, I just noticed the trailer was uploaded by this forum's Petcor80! Kewl!!

Thanks for your info, JC. My tape is the Ocean Shores version, I'll check running time when I get home.

Don`t forget "Enter The Ninja"! :)

I think of it every day.

KARA BOGA (1974)
I so wish the Vikings hadn't gone back to Scandinavia (apparently they ran out of beer) but had kept conquering the world. We would all have been speaking Danish nowadays and we wouldn't have had a confusing mess with titles like "kara"!! <_<

I have an old and very rare Danish release of GHOSTLY FACE. It was released here as Spøgelsesansigtet and is ca. half letterboxed and dubbed in English. I'm of course anxious to find out if my tape is the short version or not. I'll check the running time when I get home (I'm away in the country side for a few days) and it would be good if you could list the running time for the French/Belgian tape. Thanks.

You find some really good stuff, Lova!

NAM ANGELS; is that aka THE LOSERS??

Jack

I can guarantee that your collection is much more impressive than mine. :P

I don't know if Nam Angels is also known as The Losers.. What is The Losers? Nam Angels is an action movie by Cirio H. Santiago.

Okay, if you say so, LOL. But I'll second Joe's reply: that ZUMA film is mighty rare.

THE LOSERS is a movie about a bunch of US biker soldiers in Vietnam. I just looked it up on IMDB and it appears to be a different movie by Jack Starrett. However, THE LOSERS is also known as NAM'S ANGELS where as the Santiago movie is NAM ANGELS (!!!)

CONTEST #40: BICHUNMOO - Deluxe 2DVD Set
Sometimes you get the funniest people at IMDB! Here's what one guy (from Sweden, haha) wrote about the film:

Quote:

This is seriously one of the worst (if not _the_ worst) films I have ever seen. It's "only" two hours long, but it felt like at least three. I have never experienced such messed up dramaturgical filming and writing before. Nothing at all makes sense! The characters all look too alike, so you mix them up constantly [...]

Imagine criticising an Asian movie for having all the characters look the same!

Or this guy:
Quote:

These cheap "flying" Kung-fu flicks were somewhat popular in the 60's and 70's. Goofy, brainless, cheap and cheesy, playing in "selected" theatres (actually X-theatres) along with X-movies. Guilty pleasure for some. I was myself, in my teens, fond of cheap Asian flicks like "The flying guillotine" ("Xuedizi"). Guess what? I grew up.
[...]
With "Bichunmoo", we fall at the "San-ku-kai" level. How stupid can a movie get. Now if this childish, disgusting style goes bigscreen with big budgets, this means that there are people that actually buy this stuff. How appalling. It tells a lot about the state of Culture nowadays. I think I'll kill myself.

VCD TO DVD???
I'm aware that Pioneer recorders can do it. I have a Panasonic one and when I tried it the picture came out black-white!

VCD TO DVD???
Yes it does, thanks. And you're probably right about not converting ntsc to pal.

Truly amazing collection!!! I guess you collect releases much more than fílms (nothing wrong with that of course)! So, I've never actually asked you this; which films (or genres) do you actually like to watch?

Maybe Bill should have released it as a book with a bonus dvd instead! :ph43r:

SUGGESTIONS & FEEDBACK
Good idea but is there that much Scandinavian exploitation???

Personally, what I would like is to read more about is Greek horror and trash which to me is uncharted territory.

Will trade this movie against the Danish release of "Enter The Ninja" - "Ninjadræberen". Starring Franco Nero and Sho Kosugi! Good quality only!

When you say "good quality only" does that mean you're willing to take a copy off an original? (i.e. an original would be good quality). (and I still haven't found out if I have it and right now I can't since I'm away for the weekend in the savage land of Jylland).

Danish VHS covers of Asian movies
Thanks to Deodato over at Uncut.dk here's one more scan of a Danish release of an Indo flick:

ESCAPE FROM HELL-HOLE
Actually it's a weird release; it's a sell-thru version of Video International's original rental tape but released after VI had closed down. The company behind the tape is called Euro Master and if you compare the two covers it's obvious the sell-thru is a copy of VI's tape with the text cut out and put in slightly different places! A bootleg? Your guess is as good as mine.

And thanks to Diabolik I'm also the proud owner of this sell-thru now! :D

I also have The Moment to Kill but the cover is green.

Videohunter, you're not so far off the track! Often when Scandinavians (i.e. from different Scandinavian contries) are together they speak English to each other.

The thing is, a 1000 years ago we all spoke the same language but after Scandinavia was split up into different countries the way we speak the old Nordic language has changed in different directions. Kind of like English in America isn't the same as in England anymore.
Lars Jacobsen wrote to me (in English) that Danish sounds to him like Jamaican English would sound to an Englishman. Some of us (like me) are used to the other dialects because we've had cable television from all over Scandinavia so we understand the dialects well. Having said that I should point out none of understand Finnish! (probably not even the Finns).

However, last night we didn't have to speak English cos we were all Danish (and Diabolik called it a 'gathering' but it was merely just a pleasant evening at Diabolik's flat).

More scans of Danish ex - rentals please!!! Come on!!!

No can do... for the moment!!! Jack J. a couple of other danish collectors... and myself are have a gathering right now!!!! We'll be back soon, though!!! ;)
/D

It's 3 in the morning and I've just come back from the "gathering" with Diabolik and Ibzen (+ 2) and I'd just like to mention that Diabolik several times looked me in the eyes and said: "If you write about this don't mention me"

Well, actually he behaved like a true friend, gave me dvd's, a rare sell-thru of ESCAPE FROM HELL-HOLE, and helped me out when I almost missed my train. When I left Ibzen was singing old songs by Gasolin' (Danish rock'n'roll band from our childhood in the 70'ies). :D
