RARE GREEK VHS & DVD ON EBAY
You're welcome. Nice doin' business with ya! B)

WAR VICTIMS
er, no. Good idea.

WAR VICTIMS
Yesterday I bid for an old much wanted Indo flick called WAR VICTIMS that Bill had up for sale on eBay but my measly $36 wasn't enough (the guy who won wrote to me he would've gone up to $88 which was way out of my league!). So in any case, I thought I'd just see if any of you had an old Greek ex-rental for sale (or another release with English dubbing and lbx). I won't pay thru the nose but make me an offer.

Anyone?

CHECK THESE FILIPINO RELEASES!
I stumbled over this store on eBay while looking for Filipino trash flicks:

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZlavarock2003QQhtZ-1

8-9 movies on one disc!!

The titles look interesting but I bet the quality is beyond pixilation crap! Have any of you actually bought any of these?

THE CINEHOUND SEARCH ENGINE...
IT'S WORKING NOW!!! Yay!

THE CINEHOUND SEARCH ENGINE...
Well, I just tried it again with CULPRITS and it's still not working. There is a line saying:

The official forum search system is offline at the moment. This is a temporary search until the official system returns

THE CINEHOUND SEARCH ENGINE...
Miltos, in other forums you can search for a term or name and find it no matter how deeply buried it is. However, in this forum it seems you can only search for words that are part of a topic title. Is there any way you can change it? It's handy when you wanna go thru all possible comments about a certain film.

Wait, wait, wait - in general isn't any movie from India "Bollywood"?

In my view yes it is. To those of us living outside of India anyway but I suppose locally they may only use the term to describe films that are actually from Bombay (or Mombay as it's really called now to add to the confusion) since that's where the 'real' Bollywood is. Sort of like referring to big American productions as 'Hollywood films' although many aren't actually made in Hollywood.

Yeah I always wondered why that guy Andrew down the street goes to Mykonos every year

...I see you're selling a LIBERACE record on eBay... hmmm... :P

Two films on one DVD-R? Wouldn't this lower the picture quality?

CONTEST #5: PYAASA HAIWAN DVD
Hi Ajmal,

Yes, that's very helpful, thanks for clearing up the mystery of Indian boobs and kisses!

And also very interesting!

5 RIFLES sounds like something to track down. Has it got a different (Indian) title on the VCD?

So PYAASA HAIWAN isn't really a Bollywood film. Well, after having watched it I re-watched Pete Tombs' documentary on Bollywood films (from the Mondo Macabro DVD) and, uh, it did look a tad cheap compared to the movie clips that were shown in the programme, that's for sure :D

Thanks again.

WEIRD AND BEAUTIFUL
...and if Miltos would just be so kind as to correct the spelling in the topic line, thanks (beautiful, not 'beatiful') :(

WEIRD AND BEAUTIFUL
I just found another eBay shop that sells Bollywood horror movies on DVD and VCD. It's more expensive than 'Mak from India' but they got heaps of stuff he doesn't.

As for Mark Johnson, are you sure he lives from his site? Because I think he also has a main job (I'm not sure).

Jack, i know you don't mind and ask by curiocity, no problem, but don't think that a guy with a site or an ebay account is rich. If he's a collector himself I bet he's like me, with empty pockets (indeed!) :ph43r:

Okay, I was just wondering.

And about Mark Johnson, well, when you read his 'about us' it kinda gives you the impression that it IS all he is doing. He talks about being an employee (in other jobs) in past tense:

Employees are a drag, man. They come in late, leave early, do as little as they think they can get away with and expect, hell, demand a raise if they successfully avoid getting fired for six months running. I ought to know, I used to be one. And when I wasn't an employee I was in "middle management" which is kind of like being head trustee at the honor farm

But it doesn't matter. If he can live off it good for him.

I never saw the shop on the Internet. I used to live in Melbourne on-and-off from '91-96 due to near-family relations and I'd often go to the Melbourne Video Warehouse and buy tons of stuff. When I moved (back) to Denmark I didn't have Internet and I kinda forgot about it. Today I just searched Google to see if they had a homepage but came up with zilch. It seems they've closed down. But I'll ask someone who lives there (and let you know).

BOLLYWOOD RULES:

I've just watched PYAASA HAIWAN and although I'm not going to tell you what I think of it (since Ayman is going to review it) I just have a couple of questions about Indian/Bollywood movies. Maybe Ajmal could help out here (or anyone else in the know):

I was under the impression that people in Indian movies didn't kiss. Is this a rule of the past? And what about eroticism? How much can you show? (without revealing too much it seems that you can both show men fondling women's bosoms and see naked boobs). Have the strict censorship rules slacked off lately - or was it just me who thought they were more strict than they really were?

I just had a look for it myself and couldn't find it either. Bummer! I guess they've shut down, what a pity. I bought many tapes in there, I got most of the Argento flicks there. I got TENEBRAE there when it was obsolete uncut anywhere else. You could spend a whole day and still not get through everything.

They were in Northcote by the way, not that it matters now. :(

ADs BY GOOGLE
Well, I for one am pretty sick of the '9/11 var et fupnummer' (9/11 was a hoax) ad which is about the only ad that Danish Google puts on Cinehound (the ads are different depending on where your Internet up-link is located).

So in my opinion they're annoying. If they were about movies they'd be okay, but since we've decided not to talk politics here it is annoying to get something as radical as that thrown at you every time you log onto Cinehound (it was even here when I first joined the forum many years... 2 months ago). <_<

Well, that's just my two cents.
