Introducing Yourself !
Welcome Michael,
Yeah, I know about selling your stuff and then regretting it! In the '90s I sold a lot of my heavy and thrash metal LPs that I'd bought back in the '80s. Stupid, stupid, stupid!!! :(

NB: I only watch romantic comedies! :P

A Good Day!
I got it from an eBay seller in the US. He has quite a few cool shirts but this was by far the coolest! I bought this and the one for City of the Living Dead. I only ordered them yesterday so I don't know about quality but judging from the description it seems their quality is fine.

The price is $16 and postage to Europe came to $13 (for two shirts). Postage for you would be $5.60.

Here's a link to the store:
http://cgi.ebay.com/QUEEN-OF-BLACK-MAGIC-T...oQQcmdZViewItem

Unfortunately, they don't have multiple copies on the page so once you buy one it's gone until they put up a new one. This is irritating as there's bound to be shirts missing no matter what time a day you check in. For instance they didn't have the Shogun Assassin T-shirt last night which I would have ordered had it been there. Oh well. But check them out.

Oh Jack, why hast thou forsaken me?

I... haven't. I'm brooding in the dank dark. Trying to remember those most important blood-gushing jewels. :ph43r:

Got something to say about Asian movies

Taxi Hunter is a cool little film. It was ages since I last saw it so I am definately going to buy that dvd.

I bought it from Eastern Records in Malaysia. I bought 3 dvds and the total came to 45 RM ($14!!). The postage came to 88 RM ($27) !!!

So that's around $40 which wouldn't be too bad a deal at any store in the west but quite expensive from an eShop in Asia. So I recommend you get it from Sensasian (the only reason I ordered it from there is that one of the other films, Sundal Bolong, isn't available anywhere else).

Chris, maybe you ought to try American ebay.

Turkish DEATH WISH !!
I think it's always a good idea to make a reference to the "original" film, (in case Death Wish) on the cover. It'll probably make a few people who're into the original, but who know nothing about Turkish cinema, buy it just to check it out. Maybe that'll even be someone's intro to collecting Turkish cinema.

btw. this is from wikipedia

"A continent is one of several large landmasses on Earth. They are generally identified by convention rather than any strict criteria, but seven areas are commonly regarded as continents they are (from largest in size to smallest): Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia."

so I guess Australia is part of Australia :)

Sure. You're right. However, your quotation from Wiki only concerns Australia geographically. Whether a country is connected to other countries usually don't only concern its geographical location but also political and cultural relations.

Got something to say about Asian movies
Since Jared is now co-mod of this our most beloved Asian section I'd just like to say welcome on board pal. You will of course be second in command and address me either 'sire', 'master' or 'your holiness'. B)

(PS: and yes, I'll make a reply to your 'gimme HK...' thread. Soon. I've been away. Again.).

Cool idea :D

I didn't know about the ASEAN thing, I guess you're better informed than me!

And it seems we're the only ones here tonight...

Actually you're on your own now, Miltos. I just received RAMBO 4 on DVD today so I'm off to watch that. :D
Have a nice evening.

I thought it was called Oceania :)

My idea was that Ausssie films are not similar with Asian...

You're right; film-wise Australian films aren't "Asian". I was talking about where they're actually located and politically. There's a bit of water between them and the rest of Asia but they are certainly "in the region". And in regards to neighbouring countries they're a member of the ASEAN (kinda like the EU, just for Asian countries).

Maybe you should change it all so we only have two sections: "good films" & "bad films"

Australia is located in Asia? :P

Actually... yes it is. It's in the Asian region.

A section for OZ + NZ. Cool. So films from the UK + Ireland; is that just in the Euro section?

US & AUSSIE EXPLOITATION CINEMA forum has been also added...I know Australia is far away from USA :D but I guess I could put them together!

As MOVIE REVIEWS room is past and reviews moved to other sections, Jared is now a co-moderator to the ASIAN forum and ajji a co-moderator to EURO and US forums!

Bad move! Firstly, Australia is located in Asia and thus belongs in the Asian section (I do realise they've got more in common with other Anglo countries though, film-wise), secondly Australians are not Americans (an old Australian 50s slang term for Americans is 'septics' (i.e. septic tank = full of... )). And where do you put New Zealand films??? Or Canadian films? I think you at least could call the section "North America + the Commonwealth countries" (or if you wanted to make a fun title you could call it "UK + the old colonies" ). Or simply "English speaking world section".

Jack

INTERESTING EBAY AUCTIONS !
Yeah, eBay US is the way to go. Forget about eBay UK as well!! I was bidding on some pre-cert tapes recently and eBayUk cancelled the auctions due to their being "banned" film (eventho they were previously banned!).

EXPLOITATION CINEMA for all European countries exept Italy (Italy deserves its own section, don't you agree?)

I have to welcome a new co-moderator: Nzoog Wahlrfhehen B)
His great reviews about Spanish exploitation is a must !!

Cool, Miltos. And I agree Italy deserves its own. Nzoog Wahlrfhehen's reviews are always thorough. Where's he from btw (yes, nosy)??

Turkish DEATH WISH !!

I am sure Ayman knows better but I am pretty sure most of the Turkish films aired on SBS was art films or dramas.

Why would you think that? While I was there I taped stuff like rare HK action and horror movies. They showed the original Godzilla movie from '54 many years before it was released on video anywhere subbed in English. I have a fully uncut Italian language SBS print of Bloody Pit of Horror. Can you even get that on DVD.

thanks to y'all. nothing happened, but the accident was my fault, so insurance for that was not covered.

That sounds weird to me. Austria obviously has different insurance laws than where I'm at. Tough luck. Just glad you're okay. I remember speaking to Diabolik recently and we were talking about whether we'd stop collecting if our collection got stolen or burnt (Diabolik said he'd definitely stop, me, I don't think I could not collect). So, Chris, is this the end of vhs collecting for you??
