Videoring Scans

the two i'm after most are Seeds of evil and Legacy of Blood.

Is your Danish Capture of Bigfoot english with danish subtitles?

I would assume so yes but I haven't actually watched it yet.

Very very nice covers there, Tim. Big congrats. I was just wondering; if you have to save up for these rare releases aren't you afraid someone else is gonna grab them before you get enough dough scraped together? A collector's eternal nightmare.

Very nice tapes! I have a Danish CAPTURE OF BIGFOOT Video2000 tape with an identical cover to yours.

Congrats with that GOLDEN QUEEN, lars. Where is that tape from?

Schweden!
A very obscure release, i've only seen it for sale once before. Now I just have to find out if the film lives up to its hype... Judging from the cover I bet it will! :)

Thanks to a nice Cinehound member I just got dvdr copies of both Golden Q. and the sequel Pink force Commando in beautiful lbx versions. :D

Congrats with that GOLDEN QUEEN, lars. Where is that tape from?

Yes Jack, VERY good news! I too was getting worried. Man, that guy is CURSED when it comes to computers (heh, seems to be a given with old age!). I remember when I first "met" him years ago on the net he was having problems with his hard drive crashing!

Anyways, good news! He is one of our most important rare horror/cult critics around!

LOL. Yeah old age and computers. I remember talking to this new girl at work a couple years back and she was trying to explain something to me about her cell phone (I use my phone for talking and sms. That's it!) and she said: "Gee, it's like talking to my dad!"

Anyway, Jean-Claude ought to realise people do care even if they never meet in real life, so next time he should probably go to a net café and let people know about upcoming lengthy periods away from Cyberspace.

HK Kung Fu + Swordsplay recommandations ???
GHOSTLY FACE is great!!!!! It's like a spaghetti western with this chick who goes on a revenge trip to find Ghostly Face! I have a rare letterboxed and uncut Danish vhs + a dvd-r off a subtitled print.

There's some guy who left a comment saying he loves to read about obscure Italian films. Hmm, maybe I've seen too many films cos I no longer find that Italian films are the least bit obscure. Cool, yes. Obscure, no.

You need to keep on a searching,Jack.Lots of very obscure Italian films out there now like LA PELLE SOTTO GLI ARTIGLI,Fidani's AAA MASSAGGIATRICE,PERCHE' SI UCCIDONO,SCACCO ALLA REGINA etc.

I guess I've got my blinkers on cos I've never even heard of those movies, Stephen. "oops!:

Hahaha, I don't believe it. Photobucket removed SEXY GIRLS OF DENMARK again!!

And the totally weird thing about it is that the small scan I copied right off AWE's home page is left alone in my Photobucket account. They don't touch that one even tho it is exactly the same cover, and the same title!!

I've never seen this before. Wauw. Looks cool. Unfortunately, it seems both #1 + 2 are already sold out!

Thanks for the heads-up.

Edit: Weird! They don't seem to have an address on that MySpace page where you can order it from, or a link to a real web page. :o

JEAN CLAUDE/Sweeney Todd
I just wanted to let you know that I have finally heard from Jean Claude Michel (aka Sweeney Todd on this board). He's around 70 y.o. so obviously you wonder what might have happened when someone just disappears for many months (since November). Anyway, he's still with us (i.e. alive!) but hasn't been online since November because he hasn't had a computer!! (don't they have internet cafes in France??). Oh well. Good he's alright.

PS: The sig is on purpose. :D Photobucket kept deleting my SEXY GIRLS OF DENMARK cover scan for some reason!! I can't for the life of me fathom why they would do so as there is no violent, women degrading or illegal stuff going on in that scan. Just Birte Tove being semi nakkid. Go figure. It seems I've managed to trick them now though (apparently they only check the latest new scan and I uploaded a bunch of scans right after I re-uploaded SEXY GIRLS. Remember that folks. LOL. Oh, and change the scan's address name).

Is your Kung Fu Wonderchild the English dubbed version?

Same question again. :ph43r:

Actually I think you'll be dining with his dad! (check post #1 again; Stephen was asking on behalf of his dad).

But anyway, I agree Cadburys isn't that good a chocolate (actually I think it's terrible). Tell him to get some Danish or Swiss chocolate.

But you have for sure seen movies on japanese tapes in 2.35 ratio...they usually have a very small bar upside and large one down, to put the subtitles into the big lower black bar and not in the picture....so if there is just a small bar on the upper picture and a big on the lower, the DVD should be ok...

Sure I have but I read a review of that US dvd and the reviewer said that a part of the picture had been covered up so I just bought into that explanation. No, you shouldn't do something like that without checking. But I did. :hi:

but jack, I believe there is no loss of picture information, because the japanese usually just put the whole picture above and put the subtitles in the low widescreen bar (and I guess this is just covered on the DVD so you cannot see the subs). sorry for the terrible english, hope you understand :)

Well if you're right then that's just dandy!! I haven't watched the Japanese version but that would certainly be in the terrible DVDs advantage (there is no excuse for the 10 times the picture disappears in pixelation fuck-up though! ).

No reason for apologies about the lingo. Mein deutsch is so schlimmerlich schlimm dass es ist nur forchtbar. Oder ist dass vurchtbar. Or something else.

Are you going to look for ex-rentals?

But OF COURSE he is!!

I bet my ass his only criterion is the rarity of vhs he's going to find wherever he goes to!!

I wonder how many marriages have gone down the toilet due to guys' excessive video hunting.

Your favorite cities
That's very cool, Stephen! Definitely nice photos! Good to hear you're moving back. One should live where one feels at home. I remember you wrote about how different people are in Texas to Massachusetts. So, if you've missed Boston so much why did you even move to that Texan hell-hole?

What's the spoken laguage on the "Suspiria" & "Dinner With Vampire" tapes?

Didn't he mention that two posts up? :hello!:
