I've become very frustrated with that forum

I'm absolutely with ya!! One thing that always puzzles me is those fans who are only interested in films that the fan community already regards as being interesting but they just don't give a shit about something that might be every bit as cool/good/interesting/amazing but it's just not well know within the fan circles!

For instance they have a thread on old polizisco films and everyone says they're so good and violent and all, and then I mention that there's this Greek guy (Lefteris who use to be on this board) who's actually making these movies NOW and nobody shows the slightest interest. Now THAT truly puzzles me!

It's like if it's not old and already well know we don't wanna know about it. In my book that's not the way of the true curious fan who will venture into unknown territory to seek out new thrills. It's like Damon Foster (of "Oriental Cinema" mag) once wrote: If I found out there was such a thing as Eskimo horror movies I would check them out immediately.

I think this release will be a big success for Onar. Euro crime is probably the most popular genre right now.

Just like you I'm dying to see this... and I don't wanna be a spoilsport... but I mentioned this release over at Dvdmaniacs in their "Death Wish remake" thread and said there already is a remake... and it got zilch response!!! :(

Unfortunately it seem like people like us are few and far between.

LEGACY OF SATAN
Posted Image

Tonight I watched LEGACY OF SATAN for the second time this week! It's just such a weird and strange horror/devil worship/vampire movie you're just sucked in. I really like it. The version I have is a dvd from the US, it's from Brentwood but even with their bad reputation it has a pretty good picture. It doesn't look as though it's sourced from a video tape but maybe a video master.

And I was wondering; was there any video releases of this? I seem to remember a Greek release being reviewed in an old Danish fanzine.

RARE DVD SLEEVES
Yes, I did. It is of course trash beyond belief but I was entertained! Some people complain about his last few films being shot on video and yes I would have preferred real film too but I was still entertained. I mean there were cannibals, gore, soldiers fighting cannibals! :D
Sometimes I get the feeling some people don't like his last films simply because there were NEW and not made in the 80s. I thought ROBOWAR was better but this was definitely better than RATS!

A great pity his last two zombie movies aren't out on dvd anywhere in the world!

The other of his last two cannibal movies, Cannibal World, is available from HKFLIX in the US. I have this and I think it's a bootleg off the Japanese dvd but even so it's professionally done (I suspect it's a boot since it has English text on the back of the cover!):

I bought that one at Yesasia (in Hong Kong) for $40 (which includes postage to Europe).

Got something to say about Asian movies
Personally I buy most of my Asian stuff from Hong Kong but I thought I'd just mention that Tartan UK has just closed down:

RARE DVD SLEEVES
Do all these have English subs? Are the formats correct? Do the Italian one have Italian or English dub?

Jack

L'OSSESSA
Okay, I'm back, I just had to win his PHANTOM RAIDERS :D

Whoah, 300 you say!! I tried to find out if there is an Italian dvd but I couldn't find one so dvd wise I think there might only be the two equally crappy US ones.

Does any of you know of a proper dvd?

Jack

Do you remember what it's gone for before?
