so please in future get the facts from all the comapnies involved before you post.

I really have no intentions of turning this into a page long discussion like some of the Global Video discussions I have seen at some other Spaghetti Western forums.

And about getting the facts: I got my facts from the OWNER of the films. I need no other facts. Whatever you do is your business.

Get Smart some funny jokes, very watchable actors

Did you ever watch the TV show? I watched it long ago and, although silly, I thought it was quite funny.

Where did you get ahold of Double Crosser !

I watched a DVD-R of the greek tape. I could get you a copy of you want.

If someone else wants it (and don't wanna bug a copy off Lars  ) they can get it from Trash-online. They have heaps of great Indo og Filipino flicks (it's where I got mine).

ah well, just shows what a small world it is in this post internet age!

Still, from what Bobby told me several of these will be out in the States early next year - so all is not lost. I've seen the master for One Armed and it looked pretty good. Anyone here seen Obsession? That's a rare one. Kind of a weird transexual/giallo/exorcist type of thing

Yeah, you can hardly say anything on the net nowadays without everybody knowing

THEY CALL HER CLEOPATRA WONG was mentioned as an upcoming title.

all these movies are also discussed by Kaiju fans/experts in this thread on the Kaijuphile forum: http://www.kaijuphile.com/forums/showthread.php?t=804

Yep I know, but that thread is a little messy and some infos are rather inaccurate.

And I'm sorry to say this but some of those fans of Japanese anime, manga and monsters tend to get a tad... ahm... Dr. Who'ie (i.e. nerdy and I don't mean nerdy but nerdy x 1000). <_<

maybe you've got to get like that to get ANY info on these movies :D
I don't think there are many people here who get shed any more light on these obscure pieces of monster cinema (too bad, from the posters and screenshots alone I would like to see all of them!!! :))

 Don't get me wrong I have nothing against these people (or anybody) but some anime/manga/jap.-monsters fans are just slightly too serious.

were these licensed releases, authorised by Bobby Suarez?

I think a number of these are coming out in the US soon.

No, they were not. Actually, when this company announced that they were going to release them I wrote enthusiastically about it over at dvdmaniacs and made the mistake of mentioning they were legit releases.

A couple of weeks later I received an email from Bobby Suarez who had read my post at Dvdmaniacs, and who had also learnt that I knew Andrew Leavold and (I suppose) he'd got my address from him. Bobby Suarez told me that these (then) upcoming dvd's were indeed not legit releases.

He also mentioned that Global Video's previous three dvd releases of Bionic Boy, They Call Her Cleopatra Wong and Dynamite Johnson weren't legit either. In fact, Suarez and his company had made contact to Global Video to make a deal but in the end they just never heard back from them (I keep referring to Global in plural but it's actually just the one guy).

This film was discussed in here a couple months ago and apparently it's never been release anywhere (to the home cinema market). Unfortunately.

Excuse me for going OT here, but has anyone ever tried to piece together an IFD filmography? I mean, there must be hundreds of more films than those assoicated with Joseph Lai or Godfrey Ho on the imdb. Could be interesting...

I have often thought about trying to make a complete list of all the Ho/Lai Richard Harrison films. The more I see, the more there seem to be. It's like those films breed!

Another Swede, Knetan (aka Kenneth Brorsson), has a HK eZine where a lot of them are reviewed:

Ciao, I'm Max from Milano, Italy. Finally found a forum where the most obscure aspects of asian cinema are discussed.
I know some of the people here like Andras who gave me a hungarian VHS tape of GODZILLA A MECHAGODZILLA ELLEN ages ago! ^___^
Hope to be able to contribute with some infos or just to chat about my fave stuff.

Hi Max, Chris, and Andrew, welcome to Cinehound!

Max: Yet another Asian Dvd Guide member, eh? (you know me from ADG as "Gynther Meyer"). :D

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I run the Critical Condition (www.critcononline.com) web site and have been conversing with Jack J on another forum for quite a while now. I must say that I am quite jealous at some of the members VHS collections on this forum and enjoy viewing all the cover scans. I did a history of U.S. video companies during the 80's on my site that took over a couple of years to compile. I'm a collector also and have over 5500 films in my library.

Nice to be here.

Hi Fred, welcome to Cinehound! Funny, just ten minutes ago I made a reference to you and CC in the LETHAL HUNT post (and thanks for that dvd! Awesome stuff!) and now I see you've become a member! :D

I can only urge other members to read your eMag/site, which without a doubt is one of my two fave eZines on the web (the other one is "Bleeding Skull" by the way).

Uh, and since you've been a lurker for awhile I'm sure you've realised this place runs at another pace than over at the Maniacs B)
We're passionate but there are days when we have, like, three posts in total! <_< <_<

Jack

LETHAL HUNT
I re-watched THE LETHAL HUNT (starring Fernando Poe Jr.) last night (not to be confused with the Indonesian The Lethal Hunter) and that's surely one of the craziest Filipino films I've ever watched!! Someone gave me a dvd-r of it (Hi Fred!!) sourced from the Greek video so I haven't seen the cover art for it and would love to do so. Has any of you got it? (I know-I know, daft question! Obviously Miltos or Bill has it! ). Are there any other vhs releases of it? Any Japanese?? I'm not even gonna ask about a dvd release. :(
When does someone start putting these films out on dvd!!

Here's a link to Fred Adelman's review at Critical Condition:

http://www.critcononline.com/action%20part...#LethalHunt1985

"THE LETHAL HUNT is the type of low-budget Filipino action film that's low on logic but more than makes up for with mindless violence and a high bodycount."

Jack

ZUMA IN ENGLISH???
Yeah, that's the VCD I have.
