"4 re-presses coming soon to Code Reds BigCartel shop! TERMINAL ISLAND, THE VISITOR, WITCHMAKER & NIGHT OF THE DEMON. So dont buy from ebays!" (Bill/Twitter)

I'm certainly looking forward to some of the titles I missed out on.

Btw, AWE in Denmark are releasing STANLEY in October so slow fucks like me can finally get it on DVD. First I missed the BCI release. :( Then I missed the Code Red release. (they're both OOP). Hopefully this one will stay in print long enough for me to actually get a copy (it shouldn't be a problem as people in Denmark don't care for old genre films. I'm told AWE's dvd's sell fuck nothing!

I've got the NTSC VHS but it'd be nice with a DVD as well. B)

Centipede Horror - laserdisck!!!
The original HK laserdisc is on eBay!!!!! Never seen that one before. Unfortunately way out of my price range!!! :(

But maybe one of you guys would cough up the dough.

Turkish Diabolik
Dodo, I have news for you...

Kaya Ízkaracalar, a Turkish member of the ONAR FB group wrote this as a reply:

Quote:

well, the poster does indeed betray some degree of Diabolik connection, but I guess it's a very loose connection because 1): the plot synopsis of Kara Şeytan reads as "revenge story of a man whose wife and child have been murdered" 2): Diabolik was't released in Turkey till 1975 while Kara Şeytan was made in 1972. So, one can perhaps assume that filmmakers saw printed publicity material of Diabolik somewhere and were impressed and exploited that?

So to me it seems unlikely that it's a ripoff or knockoff of DIABOLIK as the Turkish film was made 3 years before DIABOLIK was released in Turkey. A repoff made out of press material? Or the scriptwriter could have seen the Bava's film in another country maybe?

Thanks to Kaya Ízkaracalar for helping out! :hello!:

I'll post a link to this in the ONAR thread on Facebook and see if anyone can help. Otherwise... continue your one-man dialogue.

YOUR LATEST DVD PURCHASES
Miltos, well, old Hitch isn't someone that we talk about very much at this place so that's why I've never mentioned him. B)

He was a great director and I love his horror movies and thrillers - but he's hardly worldweird material.

Thanks, bdc. :hello!:

It's a velour box!!

14 Hitchcock films and an extra disc with docs 'n' stuff. According to Ama zon customers the pq of the films is great. I got it second-hand from a seller on a local film forum at 30 dollars. On Am. it's 90 dollars. :D

Greek cult cinema???
As the thread headline indicates this thread isn't just about Greek horror films, but Greek cult films in general.

Here's one that I've just won (that some unknown guy said was really good and that I ought to buy). :D

DEADLY TRAP (PAGIDA STIN ELLADA)

Welcome to Cinehound, mate. :hello!:

The Keep (Scott Glenn)
I only have a dvd-r bootleg of the film but I know an English bloke who lives in Turkey and who has a whole collection of the film on VHS. Every time he stumbles over another tape he scoops it up (even the same releases!). All hail the fanatical fan!! :tapelove:

The film has two endings, apparently there was a longer ending that was only used in the TV print. I haven't seen it. There are two laserdisc releases, one fs and one lbx.

It's rumoured that there's going to be a DVD (or bluray) release in the near future (next year).

Btw, if you think the film is too cheesy I would recommend reading the book. It's MUCH better.
