Which operating system and internet browser are you using?
I'm editing this post to expand my thoughts: I think that the problem actually lies within your system.
The font rendering of your operating system could be the problem but lets try something easier first:

I don't know where you come from and with which settings your browser installed itself but one reason why the text is showing up funny on your screen could be the text encoding of the browser.
On Mozilla Firefox for instance you're able to change the text encoding to several different options. In the Menu Bar you click on View -> Text Encoding then you choose the option you want to use. (At least this is where you can find it on FireFox 41.0)
As far as I can tell I always used "Western" but "Unicode" seems to work fine, too and I'm actually surprised that my browser wasn't set to it by default.

If we are lucky then this already solves your problem.
W7 and FF.

But it's only on this forum(!!!). All letters works a ok on other sites.
I just saw that the forum is indeed encoding text with windows-1252 instead of UTF-8 which seems to be pretty much standard on modern websites. Nonetheless I don't know if windows-1252 itself is the problem but the forum in general seems to have problems with the encoding.

Maybe Miltos can do something about it but my guess is that the programmers over at zetaboards did something horribly wrong with the coding and now we need to suffer because there is no solution, sorry Member-X :(

Love and Desire (2003)
It is available on the German YouTube-clone myvideo.
There is no DVD or Bluray release of the movie so I guess this is the best (only) alternative:

MyVideo-Link

MyVideo is a little bit of a pain in the ass to browse but I guess you'll fight your way through it.

Anyone else have problems with non-us characters?
For example the character is all screwed up. (Second letter in the picture)
The character is rendering just fine.
Testing a few characters:

Maybe your computer has a problem with rendering the font properly?

Ghost Delivery Aka Kohn Sang Pea - 2003
Thanks for the quick review, doesn't sound too bad.

No one? I already wrote them through the contact page but so far I got no response, maybe they don't use the email address anymore which is associated to the contact form?

Old school HK/Taiwan films on blu-ray
If you're interested in Shaw Brothers or eastern movies in general, I definitely recommend the German label filmArt.
Once in a while they release an eastern movie on bluray, the last one (outside their Shaw Brothers collection, will write about this one later) they released was Return of the Chinese Boxer (Das Todeslied des Shaolin) in July (if I remember correctly):

The Bluray has a great picture quality and even offers English audio.
They also released The Master & the Kid (Die gelbe Hlle der Shaolin) on Bluray, unfortunately I don't own this one so I can't approve the good reviews I read in the net, but filmArt is a very good label, known for their good releases.
The next eastern title they want to release is, according to their facebook account, Hero of Shanghai (Die Todeshand des schwarzen Panthers):

No exact release date so far, though.

Another thing by filmArt that is currently standing out in the German eastern market is the Shaw Brothers Collection. Hand-chosen titles from the Shaw Brothers library released on both DVD and Bluray in a great quality.

There are currently 4 titles:

1. The Deadly Duo Das Tdliche Duo
2. The Duel Duell ohne Gnade
3. Black Magic Das Omen des Bsen
4. Man of Iron Der Mann mit der Tigerpranke

(Black Magic DVD/Bluray combo)

I think the next Shaw Brothers title they want to release is Killer Constable (Der gandenlose Vollstrecker).

Other German labels you could look out for are T.V.P. who are releasing quite a few eastern movies and Rapid Eye Movies. I don't have any T.V.P. releases but as far as I know their releases are kinda hit and miss, definitely check out reviews before you buy them (besides I don't even know if they are English friendly). Rapid Eye Movies seems to concentrate on Japanese cinema but maybe there is something interesting.

Just a bump of an 7 year old thread :hi:
Does anyone know why they are not activating new members? You can register and click the link you'll get in the email but the account has to be activated by a moderator/admin and that simply doesn't happen (or it takes weeks  ).

The Evil Dead
Unfortunately I have nothing to offer but man, this is a nice collection you've got there

- be aware of mould/fungus on tapes (it ruins the tape and your player, but can be cleaned sometimes)
- get to know the difference between sell through tapes and ex-rentals (cause sell-tru's are worth shit so don't pay much for them ;))
- work hard so you have much money to pay for your new addiction :D
- buy only from me so I can get your hard-earned money

welcome on board! :hello!:
Thanks for the answers (man, is this really already a year ago?)
Why do collectors prefer ex-rental tapes over sell-throughs? How can I spot the difference between them?

Regards

Your latest VCD purchaces
Over a year ago and I didn't see the movie yet, shame on me :(
There are always other movies that need to be seen but I promise that I'll watch Magic of Spell next week :D

on topic I bought The Chase (1971) and Tiger of Northland (1976) both Hong Kong movies with the lovely Maria Yi Yi

YOUR LATEST DVD PURCHASES
I'm surprised that the Rambo Extended Cut didn't see a DVD release back when it came out. Sure, more and more people are shifting to the Bluray but the DVD market is still going strong (compared to Bluray) at least that's my view.

New Bluray hack available - Help if you can
Thanks for the answer.
This is really fucked up and I wish I had an Bluray drive so that I could contribute.

New Bluray hack available - Help if you can
Does every (new) Bluray come with these harsh DRMs or is it up to the label if they put this strict decryption on the disc or not?
