I'm currently in Tokyo and would like to get recommendations where I should go to find movies to buy. It would be nice with old VHS tapes with horror/trash/sleaze but I guess that might be hard to find so places that carry a nice selection of DVDs and BDs will do fine. Also record stores with a nice selection of punk/hardcore/metal would also be nice. |

Sent you a PM but they are in the Jimbocho district. The guide book said it was a district for second hand book shops so I figured that there might be other second hand stores too. I did not figure wrong. Didn't see any second hand book shops though. Didn't look that hard for them though. Here's some more pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The last store with tapes is across the street to the left of this building:

Hi guys. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'm going to be in Tokyo for 2 weeks in September and will be looking for shops that stock VHS. From what I gather from this thread and from a brief bit of research Kanda, Jimbocho and Akihabara are the main areas to look for these shops. However, I wanted to ask if anyone knew of the addresses, shop names or hidden gems in Tokyo that would have VHS or a good stock of cult DVD & Blu-ray. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks for looking

Thanks for responding Cteve! I had Nakano Broadway on my hit list ![]() Apparently there's a place called Taco Che with some VHS and also there's a 2nd hand DVD stores near the entrance of the Broadway which is supposed to have some too. Cheers - any more recommedations are most welcome! |
