I was on Ebay looking for old rare issues of Italian sex magazines such as CINESTOP and CINESEX for any Polselli films that had fotoromanzas printed in them, when i noticed one seller had an issue containing a full 55-page fotoromanza for a Greek sexploitation flick. Can't recall the title of the film, but it WAS a familar-sounding title to me and by a familar-sounding Greek director.
Just thought i'd mention it in case anyone on here collects that kind of thing and wanted to bid on it. Would be nice for one of you Greek cult-film enthusiasts to own a copy of this magazine with a scene-by-scene/photo-by-photo reprinting of an entire erotic Greek cult-film!

By the way...i asked my friend Bill from ONAR FILMS a couple of years ago about whether any of Renato's films ever had video release in Greece and he said "no, they did not". I trust Bill alot as he is always honest with me AND a true expert when it comes to Greek video releases as he admitted to me that over the decades he has scoured probably ever video shop there is in Greece, at one time or another, and had never seen a Polselli film (well, we were talking about RITI, MAGIE NERE E SEGRETE ORGE NEL TRECENTO at the time, as i had a Greek film titles that was rumoured to be a retitling of it, but he said it was not).
As much as i want to believe Bill and as much as i trust his expertese on Greek video releases, it just BUGS me as years ago when some horror and exploitation titles were very rare to find anywhere else, you could virtually guarantee that a video had been release at some point in either Holland or Greece!!!
So, does anybody know of any of Renato's films that EVER had Greek video releases? The film i ORIGINALLY asked Bill about was called something like "ORGIES TOU KOMMIS VRAKULA" and was rumoured to be directed by a 'Ralph Brown' (Renato's main pseudonym). Bill said he had never ever encountered such a tape. If true, could it mean that MAYBE this title was for a CINEMA release of the film back in the 1970s? Anyone here an expert on foreign films released in Greece to cinemas back then???

Wayne, could you please give the link or the seller's User Id for that greek fotonovel, I'm ineresting a lot. I'll try to search ebay but if you can give me more info.

I have A LOT of old Italian mags from the 70s like CINESEX, I used to collect them for some years. I'll search them to see if I have anything with Polselli.
But I have to visit my other house...maybe the weekend.

ORGIES TOU KOMIS VRAKULA is the title of a hardcore "no label" greek VHS. You must know that many European & American XXX films released here on tape in the early 80s. Original pre-records, but with rather silly covers (some nude models - nothing to do with the movie), with more silly Greek titles (no original title on cover), withour mentioning any actors (well, in some cases they did...), and mainly with a even more silly synopsis, general words about...sex life (!!), nothing to do with the plot. The owners of these labels had other "official" labels and also they had a porn cinema downtown...so they used their theater-prints without permission of course. I guess that's why they were hidding information from the covers. Of course there were many other reasons: Affraid of the police (porno was typically forbidden), many prints were without credits, etc...

The worst thing is that they had reproduced their covers in huge quantities, so instead of throwing them away they released several films with the very SAME cover...That leads you to a nightmare because even if you find into a store a XXX tape that you already have, you should get it again because you don't really know which movie is behind !!

Coming but to ORGIES TOU KOMIS VRAKULA (title means: THE ORGIES OF COUNT DRACULA WHO WEARS PANTS), I've read a lot about it into several fanzines all these years: Nobody has it and they all want it !! A true mystery. I have TONS of Greek XXX VHS releases (Wayne, you're right, you can never say I have them all when it comes to Greek tapes !!), but I never saw that anywhere. I could imagine is one of the hardcore Draculas made in USA, like Dracula Sucks...I don't know. A Swedish guy told me once he has a Greek-subtitled copy (no cover) of the XXX version of MALABIMBA !! I tried to swap with him but we've lost contact. Maybe the same tape? Only Devil knows right know !!

But ORGIES TOU KOMIS VRAKULA tape exists, I'm almost sure !!

I forgot to say that maybe it's the film "The Reincarnation of Isabel" as that's also known as " The Horrible Orgies of Count Dracula "

Wayne, do you know if Polselli's films had XXX versions?

Thanks for the info, Miltos! I would LOVE to know if any of Renato's films ever had video release in Greece...seems incredibly odd that i have never heard anyone talk of Greek video releases of his films as Greece was always the COLLECTOR'S HAVEN when looking for films otherwise unavailable elsewhere for years!

Would be interested in some of those XXX sometime...we'll speak more soon!

Wayne, I found the CINESEX with the Greek fotonovel and bought it already. It's one of my favourites, TWO FACES OF LOVE with Anna Fonsou, I have 3 different versions of it and mixed them to one long version.

I can't wait to get it on my hands. As I told you I used to buy some of these mags in the past, maybe I'll start again (even if prices seems now too high). Great stuff, very nice & rare photos of sexploitation /nunnery / giallo / horror films and a great long fotonovel taken from a film usually. I have some giallo fotonovels, one is from NEXT! with scenes that aren't in any print !!

But I see that some other of these mags have 4-6 pages about other Greek films also...Well, I'm thinking seriously to re-start my collection ;)

Glad you found it in the end! Please let me know if you get the chance to sort through all your old collection of these sorts fo magazines as i am definitely after the 50+ page fotonovel features they did for some of Renato's films. The only one i have so far is CINESTOP #10 from 1971, which a very kind/generous Ebay seller based in Italy scanned for me! They had sold it for around 36 and i simply couldn't afford to bid, so asked if they would be kind enough to provide scans of just the 55 pages of the fotonovel section for my book and they were very happy to oblige...sending me a CD-R with all 55-pages of the LA VERITA' SECONDO SATANA fotonovel as well as the front cover of the magazine in 300dpi high-res scans! I only wish there were more people in the world willing to help like that person. I have been turned down plenty of times by people i have asked help from for my Polselli book, mostly just for one or two scans. I have been waiting to hear back from a gallery in New York who have 2 very rare foreign posters for Polselli films. They are selling an Italian poster for L'AMANTE DEL VAMPIRO as well as a French poster for IL MOSTRO DELL'OPERA, but prices are very high. I explained to them in-depth about my book and my situation and aked if they would be willing to help and they agreed to make hig-res scans of each poster for the book...but i have yet to receive anything, despite their many emails saying they are still going to do the scans for me. Last time i emailed, some weeks ago (after not hearing from them for many months) i didn't receive a reply at all, so...i guess they backed out and couldn't be bothered...or maybe were never serious in the first place...
But, anyone with any old CINESEX or CINESTOP magazines that feature those 55-page fotonovels for some of the ones i still need, who can send me 300dpi high-res scans on CD-R (including cover scan) will get an aknowledgement in the book when it gets published...so let me know!
Here are the Polselli films i am after 55-page fotonovels from magazines for:

RITI, MAGIE NERE E SEGRETE ORGE NEL TRECENTO...
RIVELAZIONI DI UNO PSICHIATRA SUL MONDO PERVERSO DEL SESSO
DELIRIO CALDO
OSCENITA'
MANIA (not sure if this 'lost' Polselli film ever had a fotonovel in any magazine, but i am HOPING it did as it may be the only way to allow fans of his films a means of 'seeing' this film)

Also, i know that many of his older films like L'AMANTE DEL VAMPIRO, IL MOSTRO DELL'OPERA, etc. had fotonovel printed...if any OLDER members on here have 'em, please let me know also!

On a final note...if anyone wishes to buy the fotonovel of Polselli's IL GRANDE ADDIO off Ebay for me, i will return the favour by sending a copy of my book when it is finished! I simply cannot afford to buy it (or much else these days) as i am not working. It is not too expensive, but i literally have NO money! lol

Also, always looking for obscure VHS releases of Renato's films. So, if you know or have any video releases for his films anywhere like Greece, Turkey, Finland, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Russia, Norway, etc, etc. please let me know...thankyou!

The fotonovel for IL GRANDE ADDIO is not a Cinesex or Cinestop publication...it was one of his very first films, so no raunchiness! lol. It is just listed under the film title and, maybe, 'fotoromanza'...
As for the Cinesex with the 6 pages on MANIA...yeah, i noticed that one. I added it to my 'watch list' on my Ebay account in the hopes that i can talk one of my family or friends into buying it for me! lol. But i was thinking of emailing the seller first to see whether they would be as kind as that other Ebayer ssller who scanned all 55 pages of the LA VERITA' SECONDO SATANA fotonovel feature and front cover from Cinestop#10...we'll see. Some people are just interested in making money and nothing else. Many seller just don't realise that even if that IS your main priority (and that is fair enough) you will still sell these kinds of collectable magazines and so doing some scans for someone before selling them is not that big a deal...

I remember asking Lucas Balbo, a fairly well-known name that has contributed to many books and magazines over the years on cult-film stuff, if he had any Polselli material that he could scan for me to help me out. I explained my situation and how i was a fulltime parent and only did the book on the side when time and money allowed and asked him if he would be kind enough to let me know what he had and whether he could help me. He told me he had a fotonovel for ULTIMATUM ALLA VITA and i think DELIRIUM as well as some other stuff like video sleeves and some stills he could scan...but wanted to charge me 25 euros PER PAGE for scans! Those bloody fotonovels are not even copyright-owned by him and he wanted to charge me a fortune! Not even a discount was offered. I mean, at the time, all i could offer him was a copy of the book when it was published for his help, probably signed by Renato and myself. But that wasn't good enough...
I know the guy makes his living from selling that kind of help, but i have encountered just a small handful of people over the past 8 years who have been generous with their time and help and never asked a penny, knowing my situation to be hard. Lucas Balbo was not one of them unfortunately...

So, anyone out there with Cinesex, Cinestop, Topfilm, etc. magazines that feature any articles on Renato's films or, better still, 55-page fotonovel features, please help me out if you can. You will get an aknowledgent in the book for your help. And if you happen to be able to provide help with scans of the 55-page fotonovels, you will receive a copy of the book in return when it is done. Greek cinema release poster of any of his films ever released there (just scans would be fine), pressbooks, lobby cards, Greek video sleeves and Greek video copies...all are welcome, but only CERTAIN things will earn you a complimentary copy of the book, so don't think a couple of scans of an old article will get you a copy! lol. Sorry, but i already have a dozen or so copies going out to people as freebies when it is printed and can't afford to give them away for small help...

As for yourself, Miltos, please let me know when you have the time to check through YOUR collection of magazines. I am very keen to know what you may have. I was hoping to find one with MANIA featured in it and now that we have both seen that issue on Ebay, it has made me very intrigued to know whether they ever did a full 55-page fotonovel feature on the film! An absolute MUST to include in my book if they ever did!
