If you haven't seen it yet here's a rundown of the next bunch of titles from our favorite DVD label. All of it looks incredible!

THE BLOOD ROSE (aka RAVAGED and DEVIL'S MANIAC) – Claude Mulot's erotic horror classic.

THE WARRIOR – The Barry Prima action classic, finally on DVD and completely uncut!

QUEEN OF BLACK MAGIC – The Indonesian horror classic, also known as BLACK MAGIC III.

DAUGHTER OF EVE (a.k.a. SILIP a.k.a. SNAKE SISTERS) – Filipino erotic classic now available for the first time on DVD anywhere.

THE BOLLYWOOD HORROR COLLECTION VOLUME 2

I'll be making a blog post a bit later this evening with a big announcement. May disappoint those who want MM to stick to the Asian stuff, but the movies in this new round of releases are amazing! Stay tuned ... B)

HOW TO SEDUCE A VIRGIN should be MM's first release this year and their first through their new distributor, CAV. Details forthcoming.

Hopefully, MM will release Franco's HOW TO SEDUCE A VIRGIN and the 70s Italian film THE SNAKE GOD before the year is out. It's been a rough year for our favorite home video company. :(

I'm not sure, there are complications. It may happen someday, but it doesn't look good at the moment.

Mondo Macabro has something to say and a question to ask ...

Quote:

We’re just updating our website. There’ll be a fair few changes over the next few weeks.

In the meantime, the best place to check in for info or ask any questions will be here.

Several titles will be going out of print soon as licenses expire and we will list all those in the next update.

A quick question – we’ve a number of titles that are about to run out of stock that we’d like to keep on catalog, as we get requests for them from time to time. However the sales numbers are really too low for it to be economical for us to repress them in large quantities.

We’d liked to know what you think about us offering some of these as “on demand” titles. That’s to say, burned rather than pressed. The covers, red boxes, disc labels etc would be as before, but we’d be offering these at a lower price, of course.

Before we make any decisions, we’d like to know what you think. Would you rather these titles went entirely out of print or would you prefer us to continue offering them as burns for a limited time?

We don’t have a list of titles at present, but Born of Fire and maybe the third Bollywood horror release would be among them. Right now we’d just like to know what you think. Thanks for your response!

I quickly ordered the 2 titles I was missing since the last thing I want to spend money on are DVDRs that wont work anymore in a few years. The fact that they are even considering DVDR sounds like the beginning of the end for Mondo Macabro to me.

Well, hopefully it's a way for them to stay alive. And just to be clear, it's only certain titles whose print runs are sold out but whose license has not yet expired that will be reprinted this way. No new tiltes. And not all back catalog titles. But some are not solid enough sellers to warrant a full repressing.

As to DVD-Rs not working after a few years ... well, I've heard of this, but never experienced it. I have decade old DVD-Rs that work as well as the day they were burned. But, if you have concerns, you could always make a back-up, or copy in to your hard-drive or something.

Thanks for the feedback!
